Forget what people say about the book. This is a great film. Well worth it. Have a watch and enjoy the adventure.

The story starts with a young Robert. Cole, working his fingers to the bone all for the payment of part of a loaf of bread. The mud ridden stench filled pathways that lead you through the horrific living conditions he had to endure. Then TRAGEDY befalls the young lad, leaving him without a soul in the world to turn too. Onward into his adventure..........A beautifully documented story, shot in stunning locations. From the golden sands of the desert to the winding streets of the Arab world. Listen to the way physicians were taught in days gone by.Rob Payne shows that he is more than a jobbing actor, he portrays his craft excellently, guiding you gently yet brutally through this enthralling installment of what is a trilogy. Ben Kingsley shows that yet again he is amongst the best actors of our time with his performance. A few unknowns are in the movie with each showing that they deserve the arts they have been given.On the whole, an excellent movie, wouldn't hesitate to watch it again and am now in waiting for the next book to be filmed

Having read the book 3 times I looked forward to this dvd. I was hugely disappointed as it bore very little resemblance to the book. It would have been better as a mini-series.

No la compres el libro 1000 veces mejor

Excelente produccion europea que en nada desmerece a las superproducciónes americanas. Buen reparto, buena fotografía y banda sonora y todo ello trazado con buen pulso en la dirección. Dicen los que la comparan con la novela que defrauda un poco, pero no hay que olvidar que las películas son siempre adaptaciones y por lo tanto no pueden guardar una fidelidad exacta y de ahí que se tomen licencias. A mi me parece un buen film.

Hola a todosYo queria comprarlo ya que vi la serie de la television danesa.Yo quería comprarlo para mi collecion de videos y de bluray que tengo.No lo podia conseguir aquí en Dinamarca y decidí comprarlo en españa ya que en alemania yo no podía estar segura del los subtítulos en español y menos en danés.Por eso lo busque en España y no me he arrepentido, estoy muy feliz de haber comprado el DVD.Me va muy bien en español ya que yo soy de habla española (Perú-sudamerica) y es fantástico escucharlo en el idioma de origen Ingles (estamos acostumbrados aquí en Dinamarca) y leer el subtitulo en español.Gracias por todo estoy muy contenta :-)AtentamenteAnita Valdivia Andersen que vive en Dinamarca :-)

El Médico resulta una agradable sorpresa dentro del cine de aventuras actual, con un toque a cine de aventuras clásicas en el que aún es posible maravillarse de lo nuevo que depara el mundo. Además provoca interesantes reflexiones sobre la necesidad de no poner trabas al avance científico, el peligro que supone la ignorancia y el fanatismo, y el poder de la curiosidad como motor de cambio. Todos los actores se desenvuelven muy bien en sus papeles, resultando un soplo de aire fresco el protagonista y una sorpresa Olivier Martínez como el Sha. Está muy bien rodada, con imágenes muy bellas y una historia de amor que realmente emociona. Muy recomendable para los que quieran ver una película de antes ella con los medios de hoy.

La película ya la vi en su día cuando la estrenaron y es sencillamente genial. Tanto en el preparto como en el guión, historia, decorados, ambientación histórica del S.XI...Una historia fiel al libro, de aventuras, amor y la lucha del protagonista por llegar a ser médico. Ninguna queja de ésta edición sencilla. Vienen varias entrevistas a los actores + varios cortos con los mismos en el rodaje + y un tráiler.
