Q: Does this do a good job of heating the whole area? Or does it just heat where it's pointed at.

This is a mostly radiant heater, so it heats only what it is pointed at. Having said that, it does cool itself via convective air flowing in from the bottom of the heater and out the top, so you do get some indirect air heating as well. One of these in a well insulated 10 X 12 room would be adequate; less so if poorly insulated and drafty. In that case, two would do the trick, but the room would need to be served by two different electrical branch circuits of at least 15 amps each.

Q: My heater died after 6 months. How do I get a replacement? I sent an email website but received no reply.

Good luck with that! No way to find any info on the manufacturer.
