Not the same as 5 years ago. Popularity rises; Price sky rockets; Quality drops.I don’t like the feel of the quality on these new ones (purchased 9/2019). I was gifted a pair from my wife, about 5 years ago, and they seemed to have been made differently now.The laces on my older pair are thick, real leather. The laces on this new pair feel extremely fake, cheap, and fragile. The older pair fit much better than this looser, larger pair. I typically wear a 9.5, and purchased these in 9. They are larger than 9. My old pair is a size 9 too, and they feel great; this new pair, not so much—the back of the slipper slides off my heel every step I take. The new pair has “Minnetonka” labels sewn into the heel area on the inside of the slipper. This is rather uncomfortable and irritating while wearing. It’s as if a piece of dirt or dead bug is inside your slipper; not a great marketing idea, Minnetonka!Sadly, I am not terribly happy with the fitment, quality, and feel of this new pair. I had my old pair for over five years, and could just buy that same-quality pair again now.

These are not the ones you want, pony up for the sheepskin ones - READ BELOW
Take a look at the 'date first available' on these: "June 26, 2003"These were once a great product. Unfortunately, Minnetonka has switched manufacturing for these cheaper pile-lined slippers, and they are now inferior. They're no better than no-name ones from walmart. Here's the GOOD NEWS. Minnetonka DOES still make a great slipper, you just have to pony up for the sheepskin ones. They're ~30% more, but WORTH EVERY PENNY. The sheepskin is obviously nicer than the fake fur, but the soles are nicer, the lacing is nicer, the leather is nicer. It's all better. They are completely different products with different manufacturing facilities.Don't believe me? Order them both and see for yourself. Night and day.Minnetonka, please keep making the higher-quality skeepskin ones, and please consider taking your name off these 'pile-lined' ones, or manufacturing both lines with the same quality level.

very very poor construction. would never purchase again.
This is not a reflection of the seller, but the product - the Minnetonka Men's pile lined hardsole slipper. Minnetonka has always been my go to brand, but now i may be reconsidering. this particular model, the tongue is attached to the lower half of the shoe with what appears to be some fabric or weak lacing. after 4-5 times wearing these indoors, they started to rip. i do not have particularly wide feet or a high arch, and have NEVER had this problem with this brand before. apparently, it looks like they tried to cut some corners on shoe construction to save a few dollars, and without using a leather lacing method on the tongue - these slippers are basically useless. avoid at all costs.

Poor fit
Poor fit as a result of poor quality control; as other reviews have stated, they come untied for no reason. My last pair of Minnetonkas lasted at least 10 years, if not more. I did not want want to believe the poor reviews, I should have. Another off-shored company sacrificing quality for profit. This will be my last purchase of Minnetonka products.

Crappy Memory Foam Insole
Why, oh, why do shoemakers specify the absolute =wrong= foam for their insoles? They know it's going to flatten down to nothing in mere hours of wear. I had a pair of Chinese made mocs similar to this which lasted 20 years, but now I'm on my 5th American and/or imported brand which won't last a year. I'd give my left one for a moc with a resilient foam insole which would last like the old ones used to. These Minnetonka insoles flattened out in under 2 weeks, so now when I walk out to get the mail and step on some discarded cigarette butt, I can tell whether it is filtered or unfiltered without even looking. Shame on you, Minnetonka, for importing the same old crap everyone else is. And shame on you all for not giving us decent lounge slippers.

Lowest quality yet from Minnetonka.
I almost never leave reviews for anything I buy on Amazon, but I am so irritated with these that I couldn't help but leave one. The quality on these has dropped so much since the last time I bought a pair of Minnetonka's. I have owned these for 8 days, solely use them to take my dogs out to potty, and yet the stitching used to secure the top half to bottom half has already broke. It's extremely disheartening to see this kind of quality from Minnetonka. For years they had been my go to slipper, but I think it's time to move on.

I purchased these slippers about six months ago and the stitching on the front of the left one has broken and now I have to order another set of slippers. My previous different brand lasted over three years. I would not buy these again.

OK for the money
I'm 14 months into ownership, and the slippers were good while they lasted.I got a tip from another amazon user to order 1 size smaller than you need, which i did and was very grateful to hear. I'm a 10 shoe and I ordered a 9, and them ended up fitting quite well.I wear them every day in the winter, and not at all in the summer, so I've basically had them for 8 months of active use. Well, the right shoe now has a huge hole in it, and I'm looking for ways to repair it.In addition, the 'shoe laces' have to constantly be re-tied. They come lose quite easily. Not a deal breaker, but a bit of an annoyance.I've been on the search for my 'forever' pair of slippers for a while, and I heard good things about this brand from a friend. I'm more than willing to pay a premium if I think a pair of slippers will last me a long time. I was hoping for much longer durability on these, but looks like I'll keep looking for that forever pair of slippers. They seem to be a good choice for the casual user who wants a name brand and will use them gently. If you are going to wear them daily, and are looking for a hard sole slipper that will last a long time, I'd look elsewhere.

Wrong Size
This is a quality product for the price, having spent much more on an almost identical pair with a differing product code when visiting the USA a couple of years ago.The goods arrived far quicker than anticipated, well before the suggested deadline, but proved to be the incorrect size! In fact this pair are a size 16, which wasn't even a number suggested on the web-site as being available? When I considered the hassle of sending them back, cost of postage etc., etc., it proved easier to just tension the leather tightening strap as much as possible and allow for a slight floppiness. A touch disapointed when I know that the 15 would have been a perfect fit, and that I'd taken considerable trouble to establish that I was getting what I wanted from a product not readily available in the UK.The product is great value and the US company concerned were very efficient so I simply chalk this one down to an unlucky error on their part, which wouldn't prevent me from re-ordering in the foreseeable future.

Delivery charges not as expected
Very excited to order these slippers and was more than willing to spend extra to get quality! I was beyond disappointed when the delivery company arrived at my house today only to say they wouldn't hand over this product until I paid the $23.00 in duty charges. This was NOT disclosed when I made the purchase and I would have never ordered the project had I known this. I really hope I can get my money back.

Love My Minnetonka's!
My girlfriend has a pair of Minnetonka's and raved about them.. I only had a cheap pair of slippers and decided to get these.. Im so glad I did because these are so darn comfortable! I thought I would need a bit of a bigger size (but I didnt) so I had to return for a size down.

Reasonable bang for the buck
Sole is quite soft. The back of the slipper isn't firm enough to stay up while trying to slip them on. It collapses into the slipper. They aren't bad and I do wear them a lot.
