## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi,then in Illinois it will not grow?**
A: Heliconius rostrata can be grown in a pot and kept indoors during winter. Would need a sunny window and warm humid conditions such as a humidifier or regular misting. The plant can grow from 6 - 8 feet so space is important. Would suggest reading online about caring for this plant or checking out some library books on growing tropical plants indoors in the northern climates.
It might be a bit challenging but a beautiful and interesting plant to have.

**Q: Are you sells rhizomes. or actual seeds?**
A: I bought rhizomes and they are growing in Florida.

The Heliconia rostrata seeds appear to be very healthy. I am presuming that most will germinate. However, H. Rostrata seeds require approximately a year to germinate. I am looking forward to the exciting day that I see the first sign of root development and the first seed leaves.
