Ingrid Michaelson - Girls and Boys: Including Songs from Be OK (Piano/Vocal/guitar)

I am very pleased with the book and the arrangements in it. It has an impressive amount of songs in it for the price, and it more than met my expectations. So fun to play and to sing!I consider myself to be a late intermediate piano player who sight reads fairly well, and I find the music in this book to be somewhat challenging to sight read (mostly grasping the rhythms and reading some of the really low notes on the bottom hand at a glance), but definitely doable after playing through it a few times. I would say most songs in this book would take about two weeks of dedicated practice for me to master. More advanced piano players could probably play the arrangements really well after about an hour of practice. The difficulty level of this music is ideal for me because it's not so simple as to feel plain and boring, but it's not so challenging that I feel discouraged trying to play it.

This is a great book. Most of the songs are in comfortable keys. If you are a beginning pianist, you might be challenged a little with some of the rhythms, but they will just help you to grow as a musician, so don't be afraid! I play the ukulele too, and this book has guitar chords that I was able to use as well. Ingrid has writing great, catchy tunes down to a science. You should definitely buy this book!

For the most part the arrangements in this book are great. They're easy enough to play without a lot of practice (assuming you're someone with a few years of lessons), but not so easy that they sound uninteresting and boring to play. They're also fairly true to the originals. (Although a few of the songs are definitely lacking without a ukulele...) It's great!

Great song book and has Be OK, also. For the most part, the chords are fairly easy, with only a few that are a little complicated for the novice. I bought it for my daughter and she loves it!

Easy to play if you are an intermediate piano player...some of our very favorite Ingrid songs included. Worth the very reasonable price!

I love Ingrid Michaelson's music so was very excited to get this and it was exactly what I'd hoped for :)
