Just Buy It!
I needed a tool to remove the octalink bottom bracket on my 1995 Kona Kula hardtail. I was worried that after almost 30 years without being removed it might be a bit tight. So rather than try and save a few quid with a cheaper tool I ordered this. The benefit being that it has a thumscrew bolt which screws onto the bottom bracket holding the tool in place so there is no chance the tool will slip if you need to apply a bit of force. I sprayed the bottombracket with Plusgas and gave it a rub with a wire brush to clean the area up then left it for a hour. Attached the tool and hey presto! Both sides unscrewed immediately with very little force needed. Must have been well greased when it was assembled all those years ago. Had I needed to give a bit of welly to a stuck bottom bracket I am confident it would have done the job easily without any slipping. Top marks and cheaper and less hassle than taking it to the bike shop to do the job.

excellent, don't waste your money on any other type. took my shimano bb un55 and will fit bb un26 bearing off easily even after i had used a socket type and damaged the bearing splines. won't use a socket type ever again.

Finalmente sono riuscito a rimuovere il movimento centrale senza problemi.Evitate le cinesate da 10 euro che non fanno presa.

C'est l'outil qu'il me fallait pour extraire ce ###### de boitier de pédalier. Je visse dans l'axe carré, je serre pour bien caler l'extracteur et avec du muscle, j'ai sorti la cartouche qui date de 2004. Il était grand temps de la changer.
