My hair's too short to wear in a pony tail, but long enough that it gets hot and sweaty during exercise. The headband really helps to keep all that off my face and the material is so light that I barely know it's there. It washes and dries so quickly too. One thing, take note of the instructions - it must be relatively low on your forehead in order to stay on. It's too slippy to just rest in your hair.
