Great little cookbook!
Originally from Louisiana, I bought this book based on other reviews. Have only tried a couple of recipes but the ones that I have tried have been great. Specifically the Red Beans and Pecan Pie recipes are really good. There are several others that are on the list to explore. I have bought multiple copies of this as gifts to our family.

The Little New Orleans Cookbook
I bought this cookbook when I visited New Orleans in 2004. It came up missing and I ordered another one because I liked some of the recipes it had in it. I like this cookbook because it is lists the recipes that were mostly popular when I visited New Orleans.

Loved this little cookbook. My son lived in New Orleans for awhile and had this cookbook. I would pull this little cookbook out every time I visited him and his family.and make a few of the recipes so I bought my own.

Excellent recipes clearly explained
This is one of the finest cookbooks I've used and definitely the best I've seen with regards to New Orleans cuisine. The recipes rarely require anything extraordinary and substitutes are suggested in those rare cases where required. In addition, she adds pronunciations which are often helpful for those of us who are creloe deprived. Ms. McKee has done a fantastic job bringing the recipes to life. I could smell the fresh pralines cooling in her kitchen and couldn't wait to make a batch of my own. If you love Southern cooking, this small book will be a wonderful guide.

Small book full of delicious recipes
I wanted to recreate the food of New Orleans. The recipe for Étouffée was delicious. As was the Jambalaya. I’ve made up my own N’awleens seasoning as per the recipe so I can add creole flavours to all my dishes.

Would that I could re-create N'Awlins in my kitchen
Super book and indeed Creole cooking is like no other I've experienced. Wonderful recipes, not too difficult to follow but one misses the heat of New Orleans, the atmosphere of Bourbon Street and of course the mighty Mississippi. Nevertheless, if you want to get close, buy this book and try to turn your kitchen into a piece of that wonderful place which is like no other on earth - and - oh, don't forget to play jazz whilst you do it.

If you have ever been to New Orleans and loved the food this is for you
I've used this at least twice a week since I got it. We visited New Orleans last October and loved the food, so when I saw this I thought it was worth a try.Have gone through half of the recipes in here and it brings New Orleans into the house everytime. Not as good as actually being in New Orleans, but close your eyes when you are eating the results and you are almost back there !!!
