Bring the Outdoors In: Garden Projects for Decorating and Styling Your Home Hardcover – February 5, 2013

I think I was looking for more out of this book. It seems like it has a lot of pages for each idea, so fewer ideas total. Also, they are all pretty basic and I think I was really hoping for some more complicated/advanced projects; I wanted something more thought provoking and impressive than what I found. It is possible I was just disappointed because I don't have a really "cabin-like" style which this book caters to pretty well.My favorite project is the glass framed flowers on the cover, which has fairly light directions (you could find similar directions online for free) and I feel they missed the opportunity to provide more information on which plants to consider based on what grows wild/abundantly in various regions of the country at various times of year.

I wasn't crazy about it because he didn't present any ideas I didn't already think of.. and if I've thought them up I'm sure a lot of other people have too. So what is the point in getting the book? If you are just beginning in the art of garden crafts then you might find this useful. If you already play around in the garden, you may have already done half the projects he presents.

With clear directions,detailed information on where and what to purchase, gorgeously staged photos and TIPS (!!!), deciding which project to begin with will be the most difficult part of this "how to" book. Yes, I am what Shane defines as a "black thumber," but this book is written to inspire even those of us not so gifted. I must add that I love the FEEL of this book. The non-glossy, textured cover and matte pictures only add to the pure beauty of Mr. Powers' passionate creation. I agree with other reviewers ~ a great gift for a new home owner. Thank you, Shane Powers!

A little disappointed. The amount of content and the creativity wasn't what I expected. I wanted to be wowed page by page and honestly I wasn't. The book was also much shorter than I expected, and the projects much simpler than I really wanted.

still not sure I can use any of the projects....maybe just the cement blocks for the succulents....maybe the hanging May flower vase....most of the ideas are too far fetched imho.....

This book is incredibly beautiful and thoughtfully curated. Shane Powers is a brilliant stylist with an acute sense of timeless style. I found this book enriching, both as a beautiful object but with a wealth of information inside. I feel completely inspired to incorporate more plant life, flowers, succulents, and cuttings into my home. This book would make a tasteful gift for a wedding, birthday, or housewarming. What a great find!!!

Beautiful book but not that many "new" ideas. Hoped it would have a few surprises. enjoyed looking through it though. Once. Would sell it back in a hearbeat.

Some of the projects are handsome and unique and I will definitely try them. Others are really impractical and I doubt that I will try them.

Nothing to be excited about here.

Projet simples, mais matériel précis et difficile à trouver.Très belles photos et graphisme.Beau livre de table à café.
