Does this need to be wired into the electricity or does it just plug in?

It needs to be wired into the mains in a cooker rated circuit via a cooker type mains on-off switch sited close to the hob (our switch is fitted in the rear of a base cupboard adjacent to the hob - so the cooker cable is under the worktop and can't be seen) The hob comes with the heavy duty cable connected and ready for connecting into an on-off mains switch Hope this is helpful

Can this be used in 25mm thick worktop?

Do the controls work with wet fingers? (My Hotpoint is unresponsive to wet fingers) Is the slider control fiddly to set the desired power?

The slider is easy to use . I haven’t tried to use with wet fingers however it is very sensitive to wet , as was my previous induction hob . So possibly wet fingers are a NO

Can you use any sauce pans

No - the saucepan must have a base containing iron (perhaps as the alloy steel) Without the presence of iron, the changing magnetic fields produced by the hob cannot produce the electric currents that do the heating of the pan. Pure aluminium pans, for instance, will just sit there and not get warm at all because aluminium is not magnetic. TIP. When shopping for pans, take a magnet with you. If it doesn't stick to the base, don't buy it! Alternatively - just check that it is suitable for induction hobs!
