Kicks yer tushie...er....abs!
I'm a post-bariatric surgery patient, and part of the weight loss has involved commitment to a regular exercise program. At first I was unable to do more than 5 minutes of any video-game based exercise routine, but eventually worked my way up from the competitor's games to the Kinect-based ones. I still use the other Zumba games for variety, but I finally outgrew - or shrunk out of - however you want to think of it - and needed a higher difficulty level. UGH! This game is it. It is still fun, and each time the Zumba franchise releases a new game, they seem to clean up some of the previous things, like now it seems that they've pretty much incorporated a "warm-up" dance as well as the cool-down dances, which is good. For me, the cons are: I'm not as into the music on this one compared to the previous release, and the moves don't repeat as often so it's taken me a while to master them. I find some of the jumping moves a bit difficult/uncomfortable, but I keep trying! The pros: Fast paced - will keep you moving! They seem to be broadening their range of dance styles - there's even some ballet (it's the one that makes me jump the most and my knees aren't fans of it, but I'll get there eventually) this time. It's more challenging - harder to get to the "Legend" status and a 90% or more grade than the previous game, so it keeps me pushing to get to that mythical status, haha. So far, with the help of the Wii exercise system and now the more challenging XBox games - especially the Zumba games, I'm now down 130 pounds in one year. So it is doable by someone who starts out categorized as morbidly obese. I can actually see muscles starting to show!!!! So get up off those couches, try a Zumba game and get sweating! :-) Good luck to all of you struggling with your weight. I know the pain of that one.

ALL TIME FAVORITE WORK OUT
I get bored on the treadmill....I hate running....I am very self conscious...so this game is perfect for me! I like it 110% better than the previous Zumba Fitness Join the Party Game. I like the songs and the dances better. The dances are also easier to follow than the first game. I like the reps some of the dances have and I really feel like I am working my core and abs! I also like how you are rated on each song so you know which ones you can work on. It is very satisfying to get a 5/5 star rating by song! It makes me want to improve on those that I don't have 5/5 stars on! Also love how there is a statistics section too, so you can see how you are progressing. I have played this game almost every day since I have gotten it and I burn approximately 500-600 calories per hour daily! Very entertaining and motivating!

Fun way to sweat and workout
Zumba Fitness Core I've never really heard of Zumba until a friend at work told me about her part-time job as a Zumba / Hip Beatz (sic) instructor at a local dance fitness studio. I ordered a Kinect for my Xbox 360 Slim and decided to give Zumba Fitness Core a try since it is the latest in the Zumba Fitness franchise, and is supposed to focus on the core muscles. While many people seem to complain about the repetitive dance moves, I find that the choreography of most songs seem to rely on similar routines, which is beneficial for participants since you can piece together some of the familiar movements. I don't know the names of these dance moves but I could recognize them when I watched some videos of my friend's classes on Youtube. The game uses "realistic" models of the instructors, which doesn't really help or hurt the overall experience. What does hurt the overall experience of the game is when the camera moves away from the instructor to make it look more "artsy", as if the game developers wanted to impress you with a 2005-era graphics engine - except the whole point of the game is to follow the instructor's movements. This can be hard to do when the camera pans out at an angle so the instructor is about 0.5 inches tall! I don't recognize most of the songs, but some of the high intensity routines are truly intense. I am breaking some serious sweat after 5 songs (short Zumba workout session). My friend uses a MotoActv for her actual classes, and she will burn 800-900 calories in a 1 hour session as the instructor. Her heart rate spikes up to 199 bpm and maintains that throughout the class. I used my own MotoActv and heart rate sensor, and will manage to burn about 300 calories in a short 20 minute session, hitting some decent heart rate peaks. I'm in decent shape (6'3", 160 lb, runner, cyclist) and didn't feel like I was going to collapse but I could definitely feel it was giving me a decent workout while indoors - it definitely wasn't boring. Overall: 4/5 stars, a great and fun way to work out although not very regimented. It will help you sweat and burn calories dancing to some fun tunes, but the camera likes to pan away from the instructor during certain movements which interferes with matching your movements to the instructor.

Tough workout, TONS of fun!
I frequent Zumba classes and love dancing. I absolutely love this workout, it's all core and you can really feel your strength developing after all the dancing. I love that you can pick songs individually, or you can pick a workout based on length and difficulty. I did one of the harder ones last night and it was amazing! I also love when the instructors do more dancing than aerobic moves. That is a problem i was running into when going to live classes, and i just don't get as much out of doing jumping jacks and lunges as I do with feeling the music and moving my hips and legs. Also, its so freaking cold where I live right now, so I hate to venture out anywhere. Since I'm stuck inside I may as well keep myself in shape! I highly recommend this Zumba game, the songs are unstoppable and developing your technique is easier with the way the game queues up the next move in the routine. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

Completely Surprised!!!
So, I have tried to be an avid Zumba lover, but trying to get into all those crowded 24 hour fitness classes was so time consuming. Even though I had an all club membership and travel to all the different gyms in my area, the result was the same. I had wait in line at least an hour before hand to actually get a good place to stand so I could see the instructor and not get pushed out of the room. It made it very difficult sometimes for it to be fun. I just bought the xbox game and tried it for the very first time and it is great. I was reluctant to buy it thinking that it would be very repetitive and boring, but actually some of the moves were harder that what I had in my classes. The moves were difficult, but not impossible. The instructors and animation is very similar to Dance Central 3. The set up and use, moving from mode to mode, was actually pretty intuitive. You can change the duration and level of the classes. You can even choose to dance song by song like on Dance Central. I worked up a pretty good sweat. My core is already sore and I think I will feel the pain tomorrow. This is a great alternative to the live classes that I can never find time to get in.

Wonderful addition
This is a wonderful addition to my Xbox kinect games collection. I already own Zumba Rush, and I love it, so this is a wonderful and pleasant surprise for me to find out there was a new Zumba out and to purchase it. Just like Zumba rush, it very responsive to your moves, you can choose your class length, ( routine length) Other reviewers have indicated the improvements and I second that. The routines take some getting used to but you can increase how often the visual queues for the next moves come up, which is very helpful if you need more reminding. I love the new routines and the new instructors. I had to convince my husband that Zumba can be used by men too, and it's great that they added in a new male instructor. Overall I feel a difference the day after this routine, I hold in my core muscle as I walk and although I only received this game two days ago. I am looking forward to the wonderful results in toning and weight loss. Trust me after having bought two Zumba games, I look forward to the routines because I am so caught up in matching the moves and having fun dancing, I don't feeling like it's torturous exercise.

Best workout game for Kinect
This is my favorite of all the XBox Kinect workout games that I've used. The variety is great, with all the usual Zumba dance styles (cumbia, salsa, hip hop, etc) plus new types of music and dance routines like Celtic Bluegrass, Russian Folk, African, Polynesian, and ballet. There are eight new venues, and the graphics are even better than on previous Zumba titles. Some of the 40 or so songs are designed for both core and cardio, while others are just cardio, so you get a great aerobic workout as well as a good core workout if you choose those songs. Like Zumba Rush, this one lets you choose short, medium, or long classes, and you can create your own custom classes from your favorite songs. The music is great and there seems to be a lot of variety in the routines. The progress tracker is in graph form, which does make it a little harder to measure time and calories exactly, although it's possible that this setting can be changed and I just haven't figured it out. Overall it seems to be a higher-energy, higher-intensity workout than Zumba Rush, and while there is some stretching in the cool-down songs, it is a good idea to spend extra time stretching afterward. Both my daughter and I have had a lot of fun with this one so far, and have gotten some great full-body workouts.

Liked it but not enough songs
Okay, I loved this game. It was fun. I loved the graphics. Great workout that worked out parts of me I didn't know existed and lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. But, I stopped playing it after those 2 weeks because it got boring. The songs seemed to all sound the same after awhile. Don't get me wrong. This was fun while it lasted. It's just not the variety I needed as far as songs and styles go. I was hoping this would be the thing I stuck to. I'd need to buy 2 of these games a month to prevent from being bored which is too expensive. Some workout modes would be really long and qualify as "intense" according to the game but after 60 minutes you'd only burned 100 calories. Yet, others would be "low" intensity and burn 300-400 calories in 45 minutes. The game relied on the same songs for the workout modes, even different random workout modes seemed to pick the same songs. The modern recognizable song is only used for a workout. The videos you unlike after working out are worthless behind the scenes footage of them making the game or tidbits about the trainers.

The game is geo incompatible. We can't play at all. It wasn't written in the description.

Muy bueno
Me encantó, en las clases de 45 min se queman hasta 350 cal, traen 1 canción de calentamiento y 1 de estiramiento. Igual puedes crear tus propias rutinas. Muy bueno para ejercitarte y divertirte en casa
