This fireplace poker will make for a safer campfire experience.

The poker arrived quickly and we took it with us on a recent 4-day camping trip. I like that it separates into 2 pieces because it's so much easier to pack in the same box with our other campfire necessities (although I did wrap the poker end in a scrap of cardboard to prevent any damage to other items during transit), and we assembled it at the campsite with a swiss army knife (all you need is a small screwdriver).We used this to stoke our campfire late into the evenings, and to lift the lid on our dutch oven whenever we were cooking over the fire. It worked very well for both purposes! I love that I didn't need separate tools for stoking and lid-lifting, and the fact that this item is so compact. We also disassembled the poker when we were packing to leave camp and stored everything back in the campfire box.

Could have come with lock washers or plastic thread inserts to keep the 2 pieces from loosening. The handle will loosen also without a way to secure it (maybe loctite). It's long enough and heavy duty, but I would prefer a one piece (my fault). It will be fine for my outdoor fire pit. I don't have a fireplace, but if you do, I would consider a poker with with better aesthetics when on display with other fireplace tools in your den or living room, if you're concerned about that sort of thing. It's kind of an ugly duckling.

Very well made and sturdy. Love that it has sections that make it so portable!

Product heavy enough and easy to assemble

Tired of using my 12 inch poker that came with fire, I ordered this one. It comes in three pieces, and four screws, so you have to put it together. I don't think there are instructions (but they may have been lost in box), but it is easy to figure out. It was tough at first to get the screws to go in. It seemed like they got stuck half way in. But after fiddling with it for a bit, they eventually all went in. So, more hassle than it needs to be, but really not that bad. Once together, it's a great product. Highly recommend.
