are these ok for my snails?

Yes, I feed them to my axolotl and the snails in his tank eat what he misses

How big are the pellets?

They are about the size of a bb. My axolotl doesn't have any problems eating them. He is about four inches long. They are soft so if you have a smaller axolotl you can break them in half easily.

The listing is very confusing, it says 3oz and the bag says 1.5 oz which is it?

The bag is different looking for the 3 oz bag. They just show a picture of the 1.5 oz bag. But yes it is 3 oz.

does this food need to be put in water when you feed salamanders?

Usually you drop the food Over the salamander so they can see it. Unless you have a feeder on the side of your seller manders tank. The food does not have to be pre soaked. They are able to catch it As it is dropped into the water. If they do not eat it I suggest scooping it out with a net. If you do not the pellets will fall apart and the tank will get dirty much quicker.
