This is great!!
This is great!!! I have to agree with other positive reviewers that following the directions is a MUST. I tried to rush through once, thinking I had waiting long enough. I didn't. It was a little thicker plastic so it need a couple extra seconds to heat up and I needed to go a little slower. That is user error, not product flaw. It has worked perfectly every time as long as I have followed the instructions provided. It is a great value since you get two of them. I keep one on the fridge - the magnet it brilliant and strong, it keeps it very handy - and the other one is with my nail strips so that I can reseal the packages. I definitely recommend this product!

One broke after using it only once
If you want to seal a bag with a handheld device, these work well. Unfortunately, one of them only worked one time before the pad fell off the top part. Without it, they don't work. I have the second one which seems to be working fine. Hopefully it will remain that way. I used to have one just like these and it worked well for several years. I'm hoping I'll have the same luck with the remaining one.

Three stars is fair
Exactly average. Nothing special, nothing terrible. It works but I've had better products for similar prices. After using for a while.

Bought for Mother's Day
I asked for this product for Christmas. It seemed small, cheap, and ideal for my needs to reseal small packages. I wanted to make stored food last longer and prevent messes. I loved the iTouchless Handheld Heat Bag Sealer (2-Pack) so much that I decided to get them for my own mom on Mother's Day. So this time I bought it as a gift. She and my dad both tried them and said they worked well. I love that they have a magnet on the bottom so you can keep it attached to the side of the fridge. My only complaint is that I wish the magnet was stronger. I have to put another magnet beneath it so that it will stay attached well enough not to slide down or fall off. I was scared that I might have broken mine when it fell off the first time. It held up to being dropped though. The product does take a little time to get used to using. For very thin plastic (such as a bag of baby carrots) you have to be quick or it will melt right through the bag and for thicker bags you have to go slowly (such as potato chips or cereal). However, I quickly adapted and find the product extremely useful. I always wanted a bag sealer, but I didn't want another big appliance. I didn't need it for freezer items so I didn't need a vacuum seal. I highly recommend this product. The price and size are perfect for the purposes mentioned above.

SAVE YOUR CHIPS!!! Great sealer for chips and other sealable items. I've even given one as a gift.
I use this little bugger all the time. It definitely helps to keep chips and things like that fresher for longer. You can use this to seal almost anything that's plastic (or really any sealable bag. PROS: Battery last's forever. I've had mine for months and have yet to change the batteries It's magnetic so it sticks right on the fridge. Extremely easy to use. It seals just about anything that can be sealed. (I've used it for chips, rice, foodsaver bags, etc. CONS: The only major con I would give is that it doesn't do well with doubled over bags. So if you're down towards the bottom of the bag of chips, you'll probably have to trim the bag smaller so it will fit in order to be sealed. Because of the nature of the sealer, you have to seal most of the bag in one direction as you can't start at the edge. Then you have to try and line it up for the last inch or so that you couldn't get initially on the first edge. (For me, I just run the remaining inch at an angle so that it crosses the first seal.) Overall, the PROs definitely outweigh the CONs. Like I stated, I use this guy all the time, and even gave the second one away as a gift. As long as you follow the directions and "heat it up" for a couple of seconds prior to use, I haven't had any issues. Just make sure you go slow enough to get a good seal. This guy has saved me numerous bags of chips.

Why haven't I owned this before!!!
So I saw these on a blog I follow, and I was skeptical, but they were initally cheap, and there was an Amazon Warehouse Deal on them, so I thought I'd give them a try. I tend to buy things in bulk (chips, spices, noodles, etc) and usually have to put things into a ziploc bag to prevent them from going stale between uses. For a lot of items, this doesn't work because they are a wierd shape or too big for average ziploc bags. We're in the middle of a heat (and humidity) wave, so even overnight chips go stale with a standard chip clip. This seals EVERYTHING. Once I received it I ran around my kitchen sealing every package I had opened and discarding the now unnecessary ziplocs things were contained in. I figured it would give out after a few bags, but even the used batteries I started out with are holding up. It should be noted, it's important to follow the broken English directions on the back: hold in place for 3sec to start before continuing over the length of the bag, and do the same on the reverse side. Otherwise you miss the edge of your packaging and air will still get in. I own a kryo-vac machine with a bag sealer setting, but having to pull it out and plug it in means that most stuff just gets put in a ziploc and stashed away. This is great because it magnets to the fridge, easily accessible after cracking into one item while cooking. I only wish it had a bag ripper on it (the little metal blade). I've now found myself looking for the kitchen shears more often, but it's a small price to pay for unstale chips and spices.

Not good for anything other than an occasional seal on thin plastic.
I was hoping these would work for a project but I was very disappointed by their performance. In needed to seal a long area of plastic that was thicker than a ziplock bag but not thicker than a folded chip bag (which is how a representative from the manufacturer suggested one user try it in a response to their posted rating). I used new Energizer batteries and followed all the instructions. Sliding the unit along the plastic had to be done extremely slowly to get any seal at all so making a smooth, even seal line was nearly impossible. The mesh piece covering the heated wire slid off quickly and reapplying it was useless. The unit would get overheated and stop working until it cooled down; the batteries became almost too hot to touch. So yeah, it's almost useless which makes it very overpriced. I don't recommend.

Functional, but inconsistent.
I like this little gadget, but it is rather inconsistent. When I first got it, I popped in some new batteries that had been sitting around in a drawer for a while. The sealer barely worked. I changed the batteries to a brand new pair and the sealer worked great. *Both sets of batteries were cheapo generic brands. With the brand new batteries, I had to be more careful and slide the sealer more quickly. As the batteries wore down a little, I was able to get a much more consistent seal. But, after a while, the batteries would get too low and it took ages to seal. So, this cheap little gadget is very sensitive to how much charge your batteries have. *I was also using this little gadget continuously on 6mm plastic bags which are much thicker than your average chip bag. Some reviews claim this thing goes through batteries like crazy. This is probably true if like me you are using it for something a little more involved than its intended purpose of resealing food bags. However, I was able to seal probably 20 5"x 8" 6mm bags before needing to swap the batteries. I can't attest as to whether the batteries drain badly while not in use. Overall, this product functions for its intended purpose, but it is a cheap/simple little gadget so it doesn't exactly perform miracles.
