Farmina N&D, Quinoa Urinary Duck Formula Adult Dry Cat Food, 3.3lb

Summary: My extremely picky cat with cystitis and food allergies loves this stuff and there's been no more urinary or allergy issues since switching over to this food almost a year ago. I highly recommend trying it if you're on the fence about it. My cat has cystitis so he's prone to UTIs. He also has very bad food allergies where he loses patches of fur and he'll scratch so much he'll cover himself in sores and scabs. On top of all that, he is the most pickiest eater in the entire world. He would literally starve himself than eat food he doesn't like. He even hates all wet food (including tuna!) So this food was a godsend for me. He's not allergic to it, he loves the taste of it, and he hasn't had any urinary problems since being on this food(we started this food in April 2022 - so coming up on a year here soon). It's a bit on the pricy side, but it's definitely not the worst I've seen for urinary health food. I tried other brands that were more expensive(and some cheaper), but he would either be allergic to it, not like it, and/or still get urinary issues. I used to give my cat Authority brand food until he developed the cystitis, but I still give it to my other 2 cats. I started mixing a little bit of this food in with the authority for the other 2 and noticed that all of my cats coats have gotten a little softer. I was really surprised by this because when I first got them on Authority there was a huge positive change in their coats, so I wasn't expecting that to happen at all. I honestly didn't think they could get any softer! I also really like this food because the calories are about the same as their other food(Authority) so it's easy to give them the right portions even when mixing the 2. I have noticed an increase in all of their appetites since switching/adding Farmina. Even months later after they should be used to it by now, their appetites are still higher than when I just gave them the Authority food on their own. I absolutely love this stuff. I highly recommend giving it a shot if you're not sure about it. Especially when you have to give new food about a month or so before you know if it'll actually work or not. You and your cat will thank me for not having to go through months of unnecessary trial and error when you could just get this food first (even more so if your cat is anything like mine). I also really appreciate that the price here is about the same as if I were to buy it in the store. Especially because there's only one store in my whole city that carries this stuff and they often run out of stock in both the 3.3lb and 11lb bags. I do wish they had the 11lb option on Amazon though, but I'll take what I can get. I didn't realize I could go on this long about cat food. I think I might love this food as much as my cats do!

I love this cat food so much! My cat had a urinary blockage right before he turned a year old and spent a week in the vet costing me $2000. He was prescribed Hill's Urinary kibble and although it worked, I did not like the ingredients. So I did a lot of research and found Farmina N&D. He has been on it for two months and he loves the taste! The kibble is also small enough to be used in his automatic feeder while the Hill's prescription kibble was too big. His poop and urine barely have an odor due to the low protein content too! This food has increased his water intake a lot which is exactly what he needs to prevent urinary problems! This brand is heavily veterinary and scientifically backed while also aligning with AAFCO and FEDIAF guidelines. It originates in Europe so it can be hard to find in most pet stores but other than that I HIGHLY recommend this brand!

I'm sure this is really good and healthy cat food but it makes my cat fart SO BAD I don't know what to say. I wish it didn't because I can tell by the ingredients and feedback that it's good stuff but DAYAMN. I've had him for 10 years and he's never had gastrointestinal issues like this. I read that introducing a different food can cause dietary intolerance and hence passing gas, but I've switched him twice before and nothing. I bought this because he seemed to be exhibiting signs of urinary issues but if this is fixing those, it seems to be giving him other types of issues so I'll probably have to pass on this one.

Very satisfied. My cat loves it and he has had a history of urinary tract infection. So far, he has not had a return of this problem. I am on my third bag of this.

This has been a lifesaver for keeping my cat’s kidney stones at bay! My vets keeps recommending a hills prescription diet but after reading how many fillers there were on the side of the bag, I just couldn’t get behind it. These it a really healthy alternative, much better quality ingredients!

I’ve used this cat food for about four years now with excellent results. This last bag I received is not ok. At first it didn’t look fresh. This is a very good cat food, and when you open the bag, the kibbles are fresh and almost moist. I really dark rich color, which indicates how fresh the kibbles are. This bag didn’t look like that at all. I should have returned it immediately, but I was totally out and thought that this bag appeared to be sealed properly so it should be ok. Now it’s making my cat sick. The food just looks old and dry. Three days in a row I fed it to her and she threw up. I switched to another Quality cat food and she did fine for two days. I switched back to this and I just gave her a small amount last night and she threw up again. I’m very upset. I need to return this ASAP and purchase it elsewhere. I used to purchase a here all the time with no problems. Then I switched to getting it from an animal feed store and the way the kibbles looked was night and day compared to these dried up kibbles. Some of these kibbles even had a little white spot on them after I looked closely. Very disappointed. I’ve had animals all my life and what I’m thinking is somehow this bag was stored improperly. I kept the last bag of the same food. I purchased from a pet store and compare the date to this bag and they’re very similar. So it’s not that this food was so much older. But it’s definitely something very wrong. I hope I don’t have to end up taking my little kitty to the vet. Just as soon as I can get another fresh bag, I will begin feeding it to her again because I know the food is great!

My cats really seem to like this but vet recommended I don’t get the medicated one if cat has no problem in that area so next time will choose another flavour/type and sure it will still go done a treat😊
