So this is my 2nd leather journal from this seller. I purchased again because I really loved the soft, handmade, cloth-like paper in my first journal. Unfortunately, the paper was different in this second journal but still very thick and durable. The edges of the journal curl up but the leather is thick and durable. The embossing detail is beautiful. I like to write with the Pilot Precise V5 roller ball pens and it glides perfectly across the pages. The paper is really thick where you can also sketch and draw. You can even write on the back sides of the pages without fear of ink or pencil transferring or bleeding through. I carry my journal around a lot especially when traveling so the leather tie comes in handy to keep it closed. I'm a heavy journaler (is this a word. Lol) who hope to leave treasures behind for my descendants so I plan to use these for as long as they are available for purchase.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this after reading the reviews but decided to go for it and I must say I am so happy I did!! This journal is absolutely gorgeous, the leather is stunning, the dragon embossed is perfect, the locking clasp gives it a mythical look. The stitching is very well done and sturdy. The pages are thick and seem to be of good quality. This is a gift for my niece who is turning 10 and loves dragons, I know this is a gift she will keep for many many years.

My Fiancé is a Dungeon Master. It requires writing notes and keeping track of everything in the campaign. He wanted a fancy, leather journal to use when we played Dungeons and Dragons for his birthday and this was just PERFECT! He loved the leather, the texture of the paper, the stone, the design on the cover and the little lock! Be aware that the stone in the Amazon image is not always the stone you will receive. Either way, the fact that the stone was different in no way makes this item less than a five star product!

For under $20 shipped, not much to complain about. Great journal book. Very close to advertised picture. The folks complaining about quality...try to make one yourself for under $40. Seriously it's cheap chop shop stuff, but if you know that going in, it looks cool and works fine. I would buy again.

I bought this as a gift for an 8 year old girl so that she could have a journal to write her fantasy stories. It looks handmade and mysterious. She thought it was very cool. If treated gently, I think it will hold up.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. I think he will love it and it arrived exactly as I hoped it would. The embossing is deep and you can clearly tell that a dragon is on the front. The stone is a pretty teal color. The pages are almost cloth-like. The leather is soft and pliable. The lock slides right in and fits perfectly. He loves medieval style things, and this journal definitely fits his style. I might order another one just me, too.

The front of it looks great, but the inside cover, and first few pages are stained with the same stain as was used on the cover. The paperbinside was similar to tissue paper. But this will work for what I plan on using it for. If you are looking for a good sketch book, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
