Dries your pasta and folds flat when you're done
A simple but wonderful little contraption to dry your pasta. It doesn't so much collapse (like the name implies) as it does come apart and fold to a flatter size. There are actually two pieces here, the top with the spindles to hold the pasta and then the base that holds that part up. When made flat, it's roughly the size of a small-to-medium size cutting board and fits easily back inside of the box for storage. It's not the tallest thing in the world, so if you want to make really long pasta, you may want to look elsewhere. For me, the only complaint I have is that the spindles are a little close together, which can make it a little tricky to hang lots of bundles on. I would have preferred there to be one less spindle so the rest could be spaced a little farther apart. That minor gripe aside, I'm very happy with this rack.

An excellent product for fresh home made pasta.
An excellent product for fresh home made pasta.I like this rack because its sturdy and it breaks down and stores flat when I'm done. I tried a few different techniques for drying my pasta but nothing beats hanging it up.I should say that egg pasta doesn't dry particularly well. Usually I'll leave my egg pasta drying for a couple hours and then I freeze it. Drying for a few hours makes it a little less sticky so it freezes well without coming out in a big clump.Air there is one negative about this product, some of the hanging rods will fall out when you store this rack. I personally don't think that's a big deal but if you do you can use some wood glue to permanently attach them. Personally I don't have a problem with it just the way it came. This product adds a rustic look to out kitchen so when we have guests over while we're making pasta we always get complements.

ALERT all stitchers!
Thanks to a review on Mary Corbett's blog, I sent for this little beauty with Prime. The next day, it appeared on my doorstep and I haven't stopped using it since. Holds and sorts my various threads for hand embroidery with never a tangle and SO easy to find each color. The whole shebang can be easily carried to a different room, too! Then I realized I could also use it with machine embroidery, with each color spool placed in order of use on the dowels. Made picking up and using many colors a dream. And did I mention it's terrific for silk ribbons too?GREAT bang for the buck!

As Sturdy As Advertised
Easy to assemble for use, dis-assemble for storage. Used the first time and loaded with 3 1/2lb of homemade fettucine, and experienced no problems! Recommended.

Very functional drying rack
This item sets up easily and is easy to use. And then folds back up into a skinny little thing to store. After getting a pasta maker for Christmas, I had been hanging my pasta strands on the backs of chairs to dry. This is way better! It's plenty big enough for a 2-egg pasta, which is what I generally make. MIGHT also be OK for a 3-egg pasta, but certainly no more than that. If you make lots of pasta at a time, look for something bigger. If you're like me, and make pasta for only 2-3 people at a time, this is just right.
