Gelinzon Roof Dog Crate Heavy Duty Large Homestead Serise Dogs Cage Kennel with Patent Lock, Tray and Wheels, 42''/Black (Update)

I've been caring for a border collie/shepherd mix who has severe anxiety. This dog has eaten through floors, walls, and doors to get out of a closed room. After he destroyed parts of our garage door and a screen door, a family member suggested a crate similar to this. The one she suggested was over $400 so I searched for something of similar quality but better priced. The reviews were great for this one so I took a chance and purchased it. The package it arrived in is very thick cardboard and keep in mind it really does weigh nearly 100 lbs. My husband put it together in no time flat. Somehow, in the week that we waited for our canine friend to arrive permanently, a caster broke off from the place where it was welded on to the crate. We were incredibly disappointed knowing we would need to find a welder to repair it. I contacted Amazon to get the seller contact information and immediately emailed them. Several hours later I received a reply asking if I could provide pictures of the broken parts, which I did. Soon after, I received an email offering me a partial refund which could pay for repairs to be done locally. I accepted gratefully. The only negative that I can point out about this product is that it does NOT roll through a typical 30" doorway. The crate is 30" but the latches stick out another inch or so and keep it from going through. Fortunately, we have another door that is 36" to bring it inside, but we won't be able to put it in a bedroom without removing and reinstalling the latches. The most important thing? Our BC/S actually likes this crate. He has gnawed on two of the rounded bars with no success, and since we feed him in the crate, he enters it willingly when we tell him to go in.

I bought the 42L cage with the roof prior to buying a dog so I can’t yet review information regarding durability and usability with a dog. All I can hope is my dog will do good in a cage and not try to escape, But I have several concerns;1) Welding is very poor (I attached picture) every single square bar only has one dot for weld I can actually see a gab through and could probably fit a paper through most of the gap2) Missing two screws for locks (will call customer service for replacements)3) The Paint scrapes off very easy in shipping there are small spots with missing paint don’t feel confident in paint holding up. Honestly if they couldn’t do a durable paint I’d be fine if there was no paint at all4) Hope the paint isn’t toxic5) UPS did a horrible job shipping box damaged really bad attached a pictureI’ll update my review in a few months once I get a dog and see how this company does with the missing screws. But intial impressions I feel like I over paid for this item.

We purchased this crate several months ago, originally, and loved it. Well, fast forward a few months later and our house burned down in a massive, nationally-covered, forest fire. After finally finding housing we RE-ORDERED this exact same crate because we liked it that much. However, having had a previous version, I have the say the quality of this new crate is much worse. The welds are poorly done, it arrived with chipped paint, and the walls are not attached on center. It's been a nightmare to put together... If it even holds up. I'm giving two stars only because the original we purchased worked so well. For the price I am so disappointed.

I ordered two of these cages for my dogs. The cage itself is very durable. The problem is they didn't give much thought into the hinges or the locking mechanisms. The hinges are easily broken off. The first one I unboxed they were already broken off in the shipping. the second cage locks broke within the first week. The wheels are very weak. They broke in the first week also. I am keeping my cages as I've yet to find anything that the actual cage is this durable. I will have to modify it and put new and more sturdy wheels on both cages and replace the hinges and door locks with something more durable. This will be easier that disassembling and shipping them back. One more thing is you will need to assemble these cages and they do not include any helpful instructions at all.

My 18 month old boxer has so far been able to break out of his other kennels. I bought this one because I wanted something very sturdy but also somewhat decorative (I got the peaked roof option) since it would be huge and in my living room. It has worked like a charm! Huge and seems very comfortable in it, and my other dog sometimes takes naps in it when Gambit is being too rambunctious. He has not broken out of it or tried to escape. The only reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were a couple of holes that were not drilled in one portion to secure the side panel. I was able to use zip ties to secure that and so far he hasn't noticed or tried to escape.

After my black lab breaking out of multiple crates, I decided to go ahead and buy this heavy duty crate. The color is more like a black/brown and the welding wasn’t amazing. Assembly was easy and my boyfriend used a wrench to tighten the nuts securely. However, one of the locks was missing for the door of the crate. However, the issue was resolved with amazon. My dog has not been able to break out and I’ve received multiple compliments from friends who have visited.

Very sturdy, useable cage. Love the flip latches with lock holes. The grated bottom with pans is great for keeping it clean. Bars are thick, not easily bent.

Our Houdini Lab hasn't been able to break or chew out yet. She did break a wheel, which I am hoping to get replaced but other than that this is a great kennel for her.
