Essential Collection Last Train Home [Limited Pressing]

For the many who think the Metheny group shines out one might say what's the point,.... all of these tracks are probably going to be in your collection anyway and you could rip together this album - so what I suggest is that you look around for a decent price (I bought for £13.97 but price now jumped to over £20--- why????), buy it and convert a few of your friends.Im not sure if there if there is some remastering on this or not but seemed to be a lot more top than I am used to, but could just be my imagination.Its still amazing to think how long a period these tracks cover, and goes to prove what a lasting contribution they have made and are still making to music.

While this is a great compilation, the price is a scandal! £36 for 12 tracks at the time of writing!The "essentialness" of this collection derives from the fact that most of the tracks come from the three albums of his Brazilian-Latin-jazz fusion era of the late 80s to mid 90s. Do yourself a favour and get hold of  Still Life (Talking) , Letter from Home ', ' Secret Story ' and perhaps ' We Live Here . You'll have most of what's on here, and much else besides, for a lot less money.

Whats so special about this ? £45 -I paid that to see them live ! Now that's special !!!!As previous reviewer said buy the albums & get so much more PMG ... .Even at £20 this ks not worth itI have made this comp for myself -Simple &cheaper on iTunes
