REKO Lighting ™ UV Replacement Bulb for GTUV GT-UVL TPUVL

This is exactly what I needed. There are so many different plugs, you have to be sure to get the right one. It fit perfectly. As of yet I can’t tell how long it would last.

After several years of being charged an excessive amount for the A/C tech to replace the UV bulb in my A/C with one of theirs, I ordered this one. When the tech arrived to do the annual cleaning, he installed this for me at no extra charge. This bulb was less than half what they charged and is, by all appearances, identical.

On my third one in less than 2 years. I saw on a negative review that I should order the 3 year protection plan for $9.99. Makes good sense to me. It will bring the cost down.One concern is that the most recent one I bought makes the house smell like you walked into an indoor pool. The ozone smell is strong. I'm hoping it dies down soon. HVAC UV lights shouldn't produce ozone, but UVC lights can produce ozone if the wavelength is too short so maybe I got an outpatient of spec light.Edit: Customer service was very good. I explained my issue and they promptly sent me a replacement with no hassel even though it was outside the 30 day window. They said they have not had any issue with this previously so maybe I just got an out of spec drive circuit.

The lamp sent was packaged well and exactly what I ordered. The instructions could have been better and stress the importance of wearing gloves when handling the lamp. The oils from your hands can reduce longevity of lamp. Installation was straight forward and only required screw driver to mount lamp to AC unit mount and to remove and replace AC panels. The mount the lamp attached to is magnetic and attaches to the metal strike plate in the AC unit and plug the adapter into power source for lamp. Avoid looking directly at the UV lamp. It could cause retina damage. I have a peep hole on the outside of my unit to check if illuminated. The output of lamp is excellent deffinitely worth the $60 to reduce germs from entering house from AC unit.

All good, works on placement, but will recheck to see both make it 12 months and add star if so.

I purchased this in December 2020. It was an exact replacement for the original UV light that was installed in 2017. It lasted 8 months and is now dead. And yes it was handled with cotton clothes and not touched with fingers. At $60 that is a bad deal.UPDATE 03/2022: I gave it one more try and ordered another 08/2021. It lasted 6 months and was dead. Having read more about these UV lights, I think we are just going to remove the whole thing and just keep the filters clean. I also learned UV lights can lead to damage in your HVAC unit that I was unaware of before doing a little more reseach. I guess they have their place in certian places, but I'm going to see how it goes for a year and re-evaluate.

I had no idea my AC had this part. Found out mine was burnt out. I ordered on a Monday and it the next day! Easy install seems to be working well.

Great price. Great product. No issues at all. Now, we'll see how long it lasts.
