Review: Excellent Quality! - I bought this mitre gauge from Axminster Tools as I wanted an accurate and robust fence for my table saw because the one that came with it, was, in my opinion, cheap, inaccurate, and a plastic hard to read scale, something I had no faith in. Axminster Tools & Machinery delivery was very quick and the mitre gauge packaging it arrived in, was excellent . Now, the product itself. It was well presented in its cardboard & polystyrene box, individual pockets for everything needed and screamed quality at first glance. As soon as I picked it up, it looked and felt extremely well made, with no rough edges and movement of the fence slide and angular rotation, precise. The locking handle grip provided good and easy grip control. Enabling angular dimensions with the drop in pin and the knurled thumb screw, to precisely whatever angle in degrees was desired. A bright and crisp scale was quick and easy to read. Impressed by the look, feel, and weight of my gauge, I had to check out it's performance on my saw. and I must say everything was spot on. This is everything I required and more. I would recommend this mitre gauge to anyone looking for quality tooling as it certainly brought a smile to my face. Axminster Tools & Machinery too, are a great supplier and I'm just a very satisfied customer. Review: A good product at a reasonable price. - I got this to go with my Axminster Table Saw. It’s a very good product and is very well made. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that the included documentation assumes you know what you’re doing. It makes no mention of how to check the play in the slot and make adjustments nor is there any instructions regarding checking for square or how to adjust the indicator. People new to this sort of item may therefore find it does not perform as expected. This is a shame as it is actually an amazing bit of kit and that, once set up, is dead on accurate. Having had my moan, I’d still recommend this product.
