It can easily square off against the M952V
As I'm sure many others have stated, this thing is light. I don't know if it's because I'm use to the issued Surefire lights, but upon first inspecting this light, you wouldn't think it would pack a punch. Boy, was I wrong. It can easily square off against the M952V, and if anything it might seem a bit brighter (it did to me). The multiple functions to some getting use to at first. Pressing the main button turns it on, but how fast you press it again determines what happens next. Really fast and you get a very nifty strobe. Slow down a little and the second push dims the light by almost half. These features only work for white light, however. IR is simply on/off.All in all, this is an awesome weapon light. Definitely notice a difference in my rifle's balance, without sacrificing brightness or toughness (and not to mention, it's half the price of most Surefire tac lights). On a small side note, would be absolutely awesome if these could start coming out with a pressure switch input. That would definitely earn this a 6th star if it could.

I tried to really like this light
I tried to really like this light. It is super light weight, it's controls are very intuitive, and it has both IR and white light functions. However, this version seems to have a battery drain issue. I put in a fresh battery and within a week of non-use, the battery was dead. In the instructions it says this is a known issue and to just unscrew the light head when not in use. This would leave the light inoperable until the head was screwed back in, which is a no-go for a light that may be used to defend myself. As long as you understand the imitations on this light it is decent, but for the cost you can do better.

Broken
After mounting it and taking it to the range the front part fell off onto the firing line. Can't take the heat of a real AR15

Love It
Love it. In researching, I found one guy on YouTube complaining saying the controls were complicated and not smart. I strongly disagree. I find them very intuitive! Hold (more than 1/2 second) for momentary or just tap for on (intuitive), tap again for low, or tap twice for strobe. Makes sense.. Strobe is multiple light bursts so tap multiple times.IR works great. Shut into a dark closet at night and couldn't see barely a thing WITH NV. Turned on IR illuminator and saw everything as clear as day.Super light weight and compact.Good quality. Love it. I am glad I chose this. I know SureFire is the supposed thing to have, ms I'm sure they're great. I have a couple normal SF weapons lights and they are substantially heavier. I'm sure they're good quality, but honestly, I am super happy with my purchase, and glad I didn't spend hundreds more for a larger, heavier, more expensive SF.Will buy again for other needs for sure!

Great piece, inspect it closely
I gave it an okay, because the housing had a tiny crack out of the box. Maybe it was just mine that was defected. Very light, and goes on the rail with such an ease that they must have had "operators" in mind when designing it. If you get one, make sure you inspect it closely. It is made of very hard plastic to keep the weight down, but the housing must be intact to keep the moisture out. If you get a flawless one, you will definitely be happy with it. For full compliance, I kept mine even if the tiny crack and elected for an Amazon discount. Go figure.

A brilliant light
A wonderful light weight flashlight with both white light and IR outputs. The operations of the light is simple and very useful. It is programable to either start low and then go to high with the second click or high to low. Pressing the button for more than 1/2 second makes the light turn on and off momentarily. There is a strobe mode. The IR light is barely visible at 850 nm with the naked eye. Under night vision goggles the light is bright. To change between white and red lights there is a very positive lever on the side to swing to expose the white or red dots. The back of the switch can be protected from accidential activation with a small bail that protects the back of the light.I liked this light so much that I bought one in both black and this tan model. The color is a few shades lighter than Magpul FDE color.

Great concept… But does not throw enough white light and the IR light is fairly marginal. Also on a tactical light I don't like a high and low function. The mount is extremely easy to attach and unattach. rocksolid once mounted.
