Best magazine for Pastel Artists
I’ve subscribed to this magazine for many years. I can’t wait when it comes and I read and see every article. I never throw out and save as a reference for ideas and techniques. It’s a must for any serious pastel artist or newbie.

Great Information in Pastel Magazine
The Pastel Journal is filled with pertinate information, wonderful photography that relates to the professional pastelist down to the person who wonders if they could try pastels. I’ve been a follower since the first issue, usually reading from cover to cover the day it would come in the mail. Now I get it delivered from Amazon directly to my Kindle. Sad to read that the publishing company that publishes this and several other excellent art magazines is closing.

I dislike it the fact that there are only 6 issues a year! I have subscribed to this wonderful magazine off and on since 2003 or 4. I love all their articles. It is so worth the money.

Great magazine
This is a wonderful magazine for those interested in painting in pastels. Lots of great pictures, story and inspiration.

Good for techniques
I like the tips and techniques in the magazine. I love seeing some of the step by step techniques I learned a lot just viewing the step by step panels. I’d say great fun for beginners and good inspiration for experts.

The best art magazine out there, by far!
I LOVE this magazine! I've even written for it, though I am in no way being compensated for this review and I am not on their staff. As a professional pastel artist, this magazine keeps me current with materials, and inspires me whenever I get creatively blocked. It has great variety too--definitely not a cookie cutter art magazine. Plenty for everyone regardless of style or approach.In fact, I inadvertently let my subscription run out (ARG!) and thus went to Amazon to buy all the missed issues!

Beuatiful and helpful!
I am learning to use pastels in painting. The articles are both inspirational and many contain helpful hints and techniques. The images of the different artists paintings are of high quality and aid me in studying the different strokes and color palettes to help me create art! Can't wait for each magazine to arrive!
