Shiny Precision Enclosure Turns an Apple Watch Into a Modern-Day iPod
Here's a delightful object that’s more fun to play with than any toy, but it's as precision-made as a spacecraft on its way to the moon. Mine fits my Apple Watch Ultra 1 perfectly, surrounding it with gleaming aluminum that turns it into something akin to a miniature iPod from days of yore.I had a specific purpose for this little wrapper for my aging titanium watch. I wanted to lessen my load while I take long walks around this leafy suburb, where I like to listen to audiobooks along the way to enhance my physical as well as intellectual fitness. Why not use this old Apple Watch for that, instead of retiring it to the back of some lonely bottom drawer? It turns out to be an excellent candidate for such a thing. Sure, this little holder can do lots more than that, including substituting for a cellphone and many other things Apple Watches do, but for my mission it did yeoman-like duty. After solving the vexing problem of moving an audiobook from my iPhone to my Apple Watch (which is about as tedious a task as I care to encounter), it was smooth sailing with this little enclosure. It worked beautifully as a substitute for my relatively heavy iPhone, perfectly riding along in my lightweight walking shorts without practically pulling them down like my anvil-like Pro Max smartphone Is wont to do. And even though this shiny box’s imitation iPod click wheel was a bit clumsy, its clever rubber band that actually turns what amounts to a watch stem to adjust the volume is guaranteed to raise a smile.I’m thoroughly enjoying this watch holder. It's no fault of its manufacturer that transferring the audiobooks from the iPhone to the Apple Watch is so inexplicably difficult. But there is no love lost between the manufacturer of this bauble and me, because the included instructions were absolutely pathetic. Take a look at my photo of this careless, minuscule trifold one-sheet, and you'll see that there is no help with such frustrations as moving audiobooks from one device to another, or even making it so your Apple Watch will stop turning itself off and nagging you for its passcode.Despite those tangential frustrations, I still have much affection for this little imitation iPod, which fills me with nostalgia and delight. If you are looking to reduce your burden on long walks like I was, this might be just the trinket for you.

Perfect for using your previous version watch.
The HUALIMEI Aluminum Alloy Mini Smart Phone/Retro iPod style Metal Protective Case for the Apple Watch Ultra is a cool nod to the past with a future forward design that is implemented thoughtfully and with purpose. If you’re looking to pare down your EDC to be a bit more basic and/or to reduce your screen time a bit this might be the answer. The aluminum construction feels solid in the hand and the exterior textured finish looks great to the eye. installing your Apple Watch into the case is quick and easy and once the back of the case is latched everything is extremely secure. My original Apple Watch Ultra fits perfectly in the case and the manufacturer thoughtfully placed rubber padding everywhere that would touch your watch. Once installed there is no rattling or unexpected movements inside the case. you do have to turn off the lock on your watch or you’ll always be punching in your code. The control wheel at the bottom front of the case is cleverly attached to where the control button on your phone is connected inside the case via a “rubber”? belt that surprisingly works really well. To be able to use your watch as a phone you’d have to have that service through your phone carrier but the compact size and lightweight of this set up would definitely be worth it. You’d have to use your Bluetooth earbuds to listen to music and for the best call quality. This would be perfect for using your previous version watch after upgrading to a new model. It’s a cool product and a good value for the money, you should check it out.

Super fun gadget.
Okay to be honest, a vast majority of the time I am still going to wear my watch as you know, a watch. That said, recently I have been noticing a bit of a reaction to wearing my watch for extended periods, and at such a time, it's absolutely lovely for my watch to not just be an expensive paperweight. I didn't really know what I would think when I picked this up, but I'm super glad for the option of having an object that effectively turns my Apple Watch into a functional separate device.Insertion and use is super easy and straight forward. This thing is oddly precise and engineered, I'm surprised at the overall quality on it, it's truly stellar. The watch when inserted fits perfectly flush, as if it were just a whole unit from the start. I love how the dial is setup to function as an alternative to the crown, making navigation really feel reminiscent of the iPod era. Great as a remote control for audiobooks or music, especially when multitasking and not wanting to switch tabs on my iPhone. Ergonomic as a remote, lovely design. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do, but it's really fun and convenient, imagine more so if you have an old watch that you'd like to see get use.

apple watch case.
not really a fan of these. Yes they work on the apple watch, yes they are fine, but it's kind of a waste of time and money. The main reason is that you have a watch that is locked by heartbeat, so it closes on you and you have to unlock it every so often. Secondly, you have alot of these buttons that kind of counteract, so you press on one side and it will activate a function on the otherside. I think there is a tad too much wiggle room. You also have an issue with the rotation, i think it's limited how far you can scroll, so sometimes i'll just finish with nothing to do. Lastly, i find the installation quite troublesoome, it doesnt fit perfectly and you have to something like wiggle them around to make the fit happen. Appearance wise, it feels like an ipod. Very cool. Durability, it looks like theres a metal case and the ultra is super durable, so i wouldnt be concerned about breaking it, but for lower tier models i would.

Retro Cool With Impressive Craftsmanship
Right out of the box this made a strong first impression. I appreciate good craftsmanship, so I have to say I’m impressed. The aluminum construction feels very well made, and the machining looks clean and intentional. The black finish with the red accents looks sharp. That pop of red against the black aluminum gives it a premium, almost industrial look. Presentation was also better than expected. Everything came packaged nicely, and it even included a couple of hand straps/lanyards. That’s probably the biggest thing buyers should understand: this is more of a second use for your Apple Watch. Instead of wearing it, you’re basically transforming it into a tiny handheld device meant to be carried like an old-school iPod. It’s a creative concept and definitely a conversation starter. The build quality continues once you start handling it. The locking mechanism feels well thought out, and the removable backplate gives secure access for installing your watch. I also like the attention to detail in the side buttons and crown cutouts. What really surprised me is that the click wheel isn’t just there for looks. There is a rubber band-style mechanism inside that physically engages the Apple Watch crown, so when you rotate the wheel, it actually controls the watch. That makes the retro iPod experience feel much more genuine and is a clever bit of engineering. This definitely adds bulk, but that comes with the territory. You’re trading slim wrist-wear convenience for a unique retro handheld experience. If you’re into retro tech or want a creative new way to use your Apple Watch, this is a fun and surprisingly premium option.

Fun Apple accessory!
I purchased this aluminum case because I loved the retro iPod-inspired design, and it definitely delivers on the nostalgia factor. Once installed, it completely transforms the look of my Apple Watch, making it stand out from every other smartwatch while still allowing me to use all of the features I rely on. The aluminum housing feels solid and well-machined, giving the watch an extra layer of protection without feeling cheaply made.Installation took a few minutes, and the fit was secure on my watch. I especially enjoy using it when I'm out walking because I can leave my phone behind and still listen to music or audiobooks directly from my Apple Watch. The click-wheel-inspired control is a fun design element that adds to the classic iPod appearance, even though it takes a little practice to get used to.My biggest complaint isn't with the case itself but with the instructions. They offer very little guidance, especially for first-time users who may need help with setup or getting everything configured on their watch. Once I figured everything out, though, it worked exactly as expected.Overall, this is a unique and well-built accessory that combines nostalgia with everyday functionality. If you're an Apple fan who misses the classic iPod design and wants a conversation-starting case for your Apple Watch, this is a fun accessory that's sure to get noticed.

Retro handheld that works well, solid quality.
I got this mostly because I loved the retro iPod look, and it ended up exceeding my expectations. The aluminum case feels solid and well made, not cheap or flimsy, and it fits my Apple Watch securely without getting in the way of the screen. It gives the watch great protection from everyday bumps and scratches while adding a unique look that gets people asking about it. Great value, not too heavy, and easy to carry without being uncomfortable. One unexpected benefit is how it changes the way I use my Apple Watch SE. It still lets me check notifications, answer calls, and send messages, but the nostalgic design makes it feel more like a simple companion device than another distraction. If you’re looking for something that protects your watch, stands out from the crowd, and gives your Apple Watch a fun retro vibe, this is an easy recommendation.

A Fun Retro iPod Look, but More Novelty Than Necessity
This is one of those products that’s hard to rate because it does exactly what it claims to do. It’s well made, fits the Apple Watch securely, and genuinely transforms it into something that looks like a miniature classic iPod.The aluminum case feels sturdy, installation was easy, and I had no trouble swapping between the case and my watch bands. The watch remains usable, and it’s definitely a conversation starter. That said, I’m still trying to figure out the ideal use case. For me, it feels more like a novelty or collector’s item than something I’d carry every day. If you’re buying it because you love the retro iPod look, I think you’ll appreciate it. If you’re looking for a practical accessory, I’m less convinced.I also ran into a couple of minor annoyances. The front “click wheel” turns more stiffly than I expected, and while using the case my Apple Watch seemed to lock much more frequently, requiring me to enter my passcode more often. Neither issue made it unusable, but they did detract from the experience.Overall, I think it’s a well-built, creative product that delivers on its retro styling. Whether it’s worth buying really depends on how much that nostalgic iPod aesthetic appeals to you
