Does this work on fine, thin hair?

Is this like an airwrap or is it a curling iron made to appear like an airwrap?

It is simply a curling iron with a fan to cool your curl. It is nothing like an airwrap, and I do not think that was ever the intention.

If it doesn't have a clamp, how do you get the hair wound around it since the handle is 90 degrees from the heating part?

While you are wearing the glove, that is provided, you wrap the hair around the barrel. You are holding the wond horizontal when wrapping the hair around the barrel. Once you have wrapped the hair around the barrel hold the end of the hair to the barrel (this is why you need to wear the glove) and point the end of the barrel downward(still holding the hair to the barrel). Push the button for the cool air, which sets the curl. Sounds complicated but you will get the hang of it fairly quickly. The curls you will get are amazing. I had my doubts as well. When I read the reviews(very positive) and saw that it didn't have a clamp I was sceptical to say the least. I get compliments everytime I use it. I just love it!!
