The Art of Letting Go: Living the Wisdom of Saint Francis

This is the audio form of a very good book. It explains the need that all of us have to better deal with issues in our lives. Don't allow the fact that Fr. Rohr is a Catholic priest limit your wanting to purchase this book/CD. I am Buddhist & found that this book teaches lessons that people of all faiths need to learn & practice.

This CD gives a great background for understanding St. Francis' detachment from things. Richard Rohr presents a clear case for stepping out of the buy! buy! buy! society and into the realm of meditation and love of God and His plan for us. The CD's need to be listened to with time to think and reflect on their content. One will rarely go away unaffected positively, if one truly listens and tries to understand the message.

The Art of Letting Go is one of those very rare books that I feel I read just in time. By just in time, I mean, after losing both my parents, eleven close friends and three dogs in the last two years, this book helped me realign my mind and mindfulness. It reminded me to take action on my spiritual development and through doing that, the mysteries of life are not so hard to take. In fact, the mysteries are expected. I ordered this book as an audio book. I have listened to it several times. Now I am listening to Falling Upward by Richard Rohr. Father Rohr presents a Heavenly, loving, and inclusive Lord. Gifts and blessings from start to finish.

Richard Rohr has once again taken us into a deeper level of transformation and spirituality so that we might discover our true selves which is the path to authentic peace and happiness. He describes the various stages to attain this while reminding us that we do not eliminate the others. I love these CD's and will listen to them many times so they become a part of me.

Nothing short of life changing listening. If you are blessed with a hunger for the Spirit you will want to listen to Richard tell this story and do his commentary on the meaning of the Franciscan Order of mendicants. I discovered the answers to troubling thoughts about the whole idea of orthodoxy or if there is anything approaching fundamentalism in my faith. Thank you, Richard - so much to Believe in.

As far as I am concerned, Fr. Richard Rohr is the premier spiritual author and teacher I have ever read or heard. This is the most amazing series of lessons on the life and wisdom of St. Francis of Assisi. Francis was such a spectacular person, aside from his selflessness and humility... probably the best example of what we all should be, if we could just attain his ideal.

Everyone should listen to Richard Rohrs book, and then listen again. This book will change your life and your minds way of thinking.
