Here Are the Specs for this Excellent Product
I bought this "brace" more for a sense of padding at my lower stomach/waist area after having a 3 inch incision made there in some recent surgery. I would experience sharp pain whenever I put on pants with a belt or sat in my car or an airplane seat with a belt restraint. My goal was more for cushioning and protection than for bracing or support. So keep that in mind in terms of how I rated this product.I bought the 6 inch wide version, which is perfect for covering about 3 inches below and above the stomach fold and provides enough to cushion the belt area. So here are the key dimensions:48 inches total length28 inches of traditional elastic (like on underwear) and 20 inches of a soft cotton/felt like materialThe softer section tapers from 6 inch width down to about 5 inch width at the endThere is a 2 inch wide strip of Velcro that runs the length of the soft padding directly in the middleAt the elastic end, there is a 4 1/2 inch by 2 Velcro "catch" pieceThus, from these dimensions, it looks like anyone with a waist from about 30" to 46" could use the product (assuming you need the full 2 inch width of the Velcro to overlap and catch on the padded Velcro section).A couple of key points to note. I believe the padding is excellent for my use. It is about the thickness of a typical gauze bandage pad, which is thick enough to protect a surgical wound without being bulky. I have been wearing it under my shirt and pants, so it adds to the belt size I need to go over it and still buckle. Figure at least one notch if not two lost if you wear it this way. Also, the padding holds its bent shape after I have worn it all day. I have not tried to flatten it or stretch it out, but it shows no iron on its label. You can hand wash and air dry, but assume the shape will adjust if you wear it for long periods.I've only had this about one week, but I wore it for a 2 hour drive and a 5 hour flight and it worked perfectly for me. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something similar at a reasonable price.

It works
Purchased to support an incisional hernia. It does the job but a little more cotton padding surface and a little less elastic surface would greatly improve the product. I purchased the 6" binder and the elastic piece is actually wider then the cotton piece which leaves me to believe they use the same elastic for both the 6" and 8". Could be a bit shorter in length. It's made for an extremely large torso. If this doesn't fit you then you have bigger problems then a hernia to worry about. It is washable.

Pass
This thing is uncomfortable. Seems to be made well enough but I put it on for 10 minutes just walking around my house and took it off right away. If it wouldn't cost me as much to ship it back as I'd get for the return I'd send it back. Otherwise, I'll probably let this thing sit on my shelf for a week or two before tossing it in the garbage.

Did not help my problem.
It really did not hold in my diastasis recti buldge. If I really tightened it to suppress my bulging abdomen, then the pressure began to hurt my ribs.

Get something else
I ordered this binder thinking it is specifically for umbilical hernia. Was upset when it arrived and put it on,it is simply a 6-inch garter with a padding in front. Does not give enough support and coverage for my hernia. Can get much better quality at a cheaper price if I had chosen Triumph, even Flexees! The binder made my stomach look bigger coz it bunches up my tummy in one place.

A Great Binder for the Price
As a quadriplegic, I have to wear an abdominal binder because of low blood pressure. As a woman, I need one that is rather small, so this six-inch size fits the bill. Ladies, don't be put off by the picture of the bare-chested man with the wide binder on. This six-inch binder is much smaller than the one in the picture. The elastic is strong, and the Velcro is also quite strong. I wear it for a full week and then my PCA's hand wash it and hang it up to dry. I have had other similar binders last me for several years; that's how long I expect this one will last. This is a great binder for the price.

Absolutely necessary for lifting with a less than stellar abdomen
No hernia here but I have a weak abdomen that I am working on. I have used this as a truss when lifting or doing heavy duty weekend work. I suggest the 6" because the larger sizes are more intrusive. But depending on your condition, you might need to go wider. I originally went with a 12" and cut it down to a 6". Enough to convince me to buy a 6"

Worth the price
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this belt works. I am a petite individual and this worked quite well for my abdominal hernia. It is much more comfortable then I expected and cleans well in wash. I would recommend this easily.
