Passive Cord - Need Active converter for laptop to LCD screen

*by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2014*

This is absolutely useless as an HDMI to VGA converter for laptop output to LCD monitor input. You need an active converter to change the digital HDMI signal to the analog VGA signal. Why are these cords even sold? Unless you have a built in converter from whatever signal source you're using, then the signal will not even be sensed by the receiving device.Make sure you know exactly what your uses are for the cord, and the requirements for HDMI/VGA signals between your two input/outputs.
