Nice old style recipes.

I feel bad to give low marks to a spiral cookbook from Penfield Press, but what a waste of money and time this was! I've had success with the Ukrainian, Dutch and Danish cookbooks from Penfield, but this was one big disappointment.While the history in this book was interesting (as it always is with Penfield's cookbooks), the recipes were not up to par and, amazingly, a recipe for the chrusciki Christmas cookie was noticeably absent from the book.I read through the entirety of the book, tried a few things, and did not like the end result. I found the instructions for the recipes to be a bit vague as well as some measurements for the ingredients. People learn as they go to play around with recipes a bit, but that's not possible for the novice who wants to follow a recipe to the letter and is simply not experienced enough to do such.Try another Polish cookbook. - Donna Di Giacomo
