Would be 5 but was opened!
Excellent book; great addition to my collection but more important than that was the way in which it is written. FYI you need a triple digit IQ to understand and grasp these concepts; if not don't bother. However, my book arrived in a bubble envelope that was cut open on the top completely from left to right. Thus exposing the book to the elements (aka Rain). That was a bummer....

A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History
Anyone interested on Deleuze's philosophy can find in this book a good account of his philosophy, but applied to an special domain of knowledge: history. It will be of no help if what you look for is a clear account of Deleuze's philosophy. It is a good example of how Deleuze's ideas are taken into a special domain of knowledge.

De Landa is my instructor now.
WELL, this guy is just as intertaining in his lectures as he is in his book. While the class is billed as a graduate architecture history course, it really is more like a philosophy class. His points are well contrived and straight foward, but I haven't quite swallowed the hook whole yet.The book itself however is quite good. All one needs is an open and receptive mind that is able to free itself from any preconceived notions and generalities that we often catagorize life into. i.e. "The Market" "Captialism" "The People"-words we use for a non-specific ambiguious thoughts

Stale language.
Very difficult to get through not necessarily because of the content but because of his language. His writing is extremely dry and impersonal. So much passive voice and lack of imagery. It’s as if he took a ton of Adderall and tried to get all of his thoughts out and is writing long boring passages about “the history of everything” as he gets exasperated and burnt out, which is the effect on the reader.

Deep explanation
I didn't what to expect from his book when i chose it. Although it was slow in the beginning it did take a turn to the interesting. Really informative, great explanations, raises a lot of interesting issues. Good for anyone that likes to view the deeper meshwork of the whys of history, it's never as clear cut.
