Globe Electric 67068 Holden 70" Floor Lamp, Matte Brass, in-Line On/Off Foot Switch

I've had this lamp for just over a year. It's moved around a couple of times before settling in the entry way by a console table. I put an LED grow light in it for my plants. Sometimes we swap the bulb out and put in a LED rotating disco lightbulb in it for some fun dance parties. It's an attractive piece and was offered at a great value. The light was packaged nicely and easy to assemble. The base is a nice weight, which lends to it's basic sturdiness, but the support pole stands at about six feet, and is made up of five separate screw-together pieces, and makes the light, as a whole, a little wobbly. Honestly, as long as you don't plan on using it for pole-dancing, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. I have a hyper five year-old, which is why I have the lamp safely tucked in a corner spot. The cord is a generous length with a convenient power on/off foot tap. I've been satisfied with its light output, be it with the grow light and disco light. At one point, I had a decorative large globed Edison bulb in it, and the lighting was delightfully ambient. I received my product with no dents or scratches, but would recommend that you thoroughly check your product for any unsightly blemishes. This product has exceeded my expectations. Before purchasing it, I read a lot of the reviews --- so I felt prepared for any type of disappointment. For the price which this floor lamp was offered, it just seemed worth it, ultimately. I love this piece and it receives plenty of compliments. It's a nice addition to our home.

This lamp is perfect if you like clean simple style. It takes up very little space but still makes a statement with its tall slim design. The base is sturdy so it doesn’t wobble and it’s easy to put together in just a few minutes. I love that you can switch out the bulb to change the vibe from warm cozy light to bright daylight. Looks great next to a couch or reading chair and adds that modern touch without being overwhelming.

I had been looking for a slim non-obtrusive floor lamp to go in a small corner space of our foyer and this is perfect. It is a matte brass and very sturdy. It's simple to put together (make sure you pull the cord out the bottom before you start to twist the pieces of the lamp together). Someone mentioned there is a label on the lamp head where you screw in a light bulb - I simply removed it and wiped off the slight residue it left behind with GOO Gone. As for the brightness, well that will depend on the light bulb you choose; I used an oversized (12.5") decorative light bulb. I am totally pleased with this lamp, it's quality construction, looks good and is a good value. Oh, and I love the height of this floor lamp.

This is a fantastic floor lamp. I picked it because it was tastefully simple. It fits well with both my modern oriented bedroom and my room full of antique furniture. With the design being so simple the bulb you choose makes all the difference for the style you want to match. Its solid once assembled, and is very sturdy with its weighted base. The floor clicker works well if a bit awkward depending on where you place the lamp. In my bedroom with open access its very easy, in my living room I have to lean over a table to hand click the switch. But that is just until I get it plugged in to a switched outlet. You really cant go wrong with the price being what it is.

I like the look of this lamp very much. It was very easy to assemble, you just screw a few rods together and screw it to the base. I ordered the large round Edison type bulb from this seller to go with it that amazon suggested. I put it all together and thought it looked great but then I stood back and it was leaning. I thought maybe something wasn’t screwed together properly or tight enough but all the pieces were as tight as could be. I moved it off the carpet and on to tile and it still leans. I really like the simple look of it but the lean bothers me a little. Oh, and this could have been a total fluke but the bulb exploded the second I switched the lamp on, glass all over my spare room and hallway. Thank god I bent down to turn it on instead of standing in front of it and turning it on with my foot or I would have gotten a face full of glass! (I immediately contact the seller and was refunded for the bulb within a day, so 5 stars for customer service from this seller!) I’m keeping this lamp because I’ll probably just prop it up some how so it doesn’t lean and place it behind the couch or something so the bottom can’t be seen. Great price.

I love the color, finish, location of the foot switch, and the look of these lamps. To be honest I thought about how the lights would look without lamp shades and decided to buy Edison bulbs as recommended by others in the 40-watt option. Edison bulbs work great in these lamps however, they are very yellow in light and aren't very good for inspecting things, or working on meticulous things. They are however bright enough to read, see remote buttons, etc. They provide a calming tiresome light which is easy on the eyes. Overall if your looking for this style of lamp and don't mind either using Edison bulbs at a lower wattage output or plan on buying lamp shades then these are wonderful lamps. I did not experience what others have with lamps being crooked after setup. just take your time threading them in and get them snug do not overtighten them. Highly recommended!!

I have two of these as corner lamps. One in my studio and one in my living room. The only slight issue I had was with the one in my living room that I stuck back behind a sofa. The on/off switch was too short to run under, so I had to hide it behind the sofa. Not a huge deal, since I needed to leave space behind anyways due to a floor vent. You can use any bulb you want. I've tried standard LED, Globe LED, and "Flickering Flame" type LED bulbs. Dimming LED bulbs will also work fine even though this lamp does not support the dimming feature. In the end I went with what I have pictured (500 lumen G25 Globe LED Daylight (5000K) Dimmable). The reason I went with dimmable is because I found a killer deal on a 3 pack. These bulbs have a frosted look (can't see the filament).

Update 3 years later: This lamp continues to work perfectly and is good sturdy quality. I love it so much then when we did a little remodling of our living room recently, I bought another one! Took maybe 15 minutes to put together and is as great as my original. Love the look, super classy and very versitile. I have to add: the reviews complaining about it not coming with the light bulb pictured have me smh...I have never bought a lamp or seen one that came with a light bulb... I wish I could give this lamp 5 million stars. Amazing quality for the price and looks so classy....love the quality and mood it gives to the room! Easy to put together, sturdy and great quality, very well packaged, too!

This Globe Holden 70" floor lamp is really nice; here is what stood out to me: - Comes well packed, every piece of the lamp is well packaged to avoid getting dinged and scratched. - Easy to assemble, with clear basic and concise instructions (although, you probably won't need those; it can only go one way). - Once assembled, very sturdy, no wobble, no slack. Stands perfectly straight. I've moved it around my home quite alot to see the effect in different rooms, shows no signs of falling apart. Very well constructed. - Fit and finish is spot-on! No scratches, knocks, bends or otherwise. It looks like a single sturdy piece even if it is divided in many pieces. - Aesthetically very pleasing. I was looking for something with an industrial feel, but minimalist and easy to fit anywhere. This lamp fills all those roles. It even looks really nice in a slightly rustic corner of a room. - With the proper bulb, it could easily be used as a reading lamp. - Consider this option as a lightbulb: >>> Globe Electric 84650 40W Silver Designer Vintage Edison Chromeo Incandescent Light Bulb, E26 Base, 220 Lumens <<< This is what I use, it it's perfect for setting mood but not blind you. I am 1.77m tall and the bulb doesn't blind me. It casts an upward light. - I haven't found any negative to this lamp, although there is something I would prefer. About the base, the pole sits in the centre of the base, but it would be nice if the pole was nearer the back. Just an opinion.
