Excellent cutters,goes threw pipe like butter,I had other big brands that have broke from falling off ladders tthis has fallen a couple of times and still functions well

This is an awesome tool. I have been using the rothenberger ratchet cutter for a few years and was always disappointed that i could not cut 50mm waste pipe. This can cut 50mm with no trouble and all sizes down from that. It feels very sturdy in the hand and lets face it using Rigid tools makes you better than other people (in a very small area of society)

It’s beautifully made all that you would expect from Rigid. And it works quite effortlessly using one hand..... Life has just gotten so much easier

No need to keep buying Rothenbergers and throwing away after 2-3 months. Brilliant.

Bought on 02-05-25 and have broken on 05-08-25 load of rubbish £70 for a cutter that lasts 3 months For last few weeks the blade release pin kept falling out Now the blade return is broken Bought Ridgid ones as thought they’d last load of rubbish no customer support they just never get back to you Save your time and your money buy a different pair of cutters

I’m not a pro & don’t use this for pipe cutting. What I’m using it for is cutting my family’s hundreds of cheap plastic clothes hangers into 3 pieces each for recycling (both the thin plastic kind & the felt-covered plastic composite kind). I’m replacing them with sturdier, more attractive hangers. I tried to use already owned, but inappropriate, tools to cut the hangers (Knipex 74200 & Klein D2328 wire cutters, & HK Porter 2000 bolt cutter, none of which are intended for plastic cutting), & it was too much trouble to use a saw. So I found out what I already knew: they couldn’t do the job without exerting lots of force & twisting. So I bought this Ridgid plastic cutter & it works great, with little effort. Many of the other plastics cutters I researched were not able to cut as small a diameter as needed for my job, but this one cuts down to 1/8” diameter, so it works where others wouldn’t. A solid, well-made aluminum tool with a very nice textured finish & positive ratchet action.

Awesome pipe cutter!! For ABS or PVC no issues what so ever. It's sturdy, well built,cuts like butter and makes straight cuts,a must have in your toolbox!! 💯👌🏽

This arrived today. There are definitely less expensive versions that will do the job. However I checked those out at the local orange store, and they obviously were inferior quality with plastic handles, and thinner blades. I tested this on schedule 40 pvc and it cut easily, one handed. I have made several canopy structures and roof racks which incorporate some pvc pipe and fittings. I typically cut the pvc with a pvc hand saw, when working remotely, or my electric mitre saw. Both worked. The hand saw was a grind when making multiple cuts, and the mitre saw created copious sawdust. This cuts clean ,neat, and quick. My current project is for my 30 foot boat at the marina, a winter cover. Nice to not haul the mitre saw, or create toxic pvc sawdust on the dock, or onboard. Also its quick and easy, and pvc is dirt cheap. So I can build quickly with trial and error.
