APO presents what must be the greatest Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute collection ever made. Vaughan single-handedly ignited the blues revival of the '80s. His eclectic and fiery style bridged the gap between blues and rock like no other artist had since the late '60s. Vaughan's tragic death in 1990 only emphasized his influence on both the blues and American rock & roll. Texas Hurricane features six of Vaughan's classic albums - Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Soul to Soul, In Step, Family Style and The Sky Is Cryin' - specially remastered for SACD by Sterling Sound. All are sourced from the original 30ips analog master tapes, and each album includes bonus tracks. APO's packaging is beyond compare. Inside the magnetically sealed box (the first 1,000 of which are gold foil-numbered) are six discs housed in a custom tray and a glossy, full color booklet filled with photos and tons of information including contributions from Stevie Ray Vaughan biographer Craig Hopkins.

This is as good as SACD/CD gets
This is as good as SACD/CD gets. When it comes to digital mastering Analogue Productions is always at the top. My Japanese SACD of Couldn't Stand the Weather is good, but this one is noticeably better, more separation around the instruments, Stevie Ray's voice is more "out front", and cymbals are cleaner.

Fantastic
I have probably listen to the studio albums hundreds of time. These new masterings are just very surprising. It basically is like I thought for years it should have been.No it's here, a bit pricy but so nice to the ears...Fly on!

Exception SRV
Exceptional compilation. SRV bursting onto the music scene. Can really feel the soulful energy and magnificent guitar playing. Close your eyes and float back to the time when he was still with us. I was getting closer to the artist as I learned more of his music and story, then the tragic news. The music is great, stellar sound, pictures and information, well worth the cost. The Hendrix covers are crisp and magnificent, seem to be joint soulful collaborations from heaven.

SRV's Texas Hurricane Box Set SACD; It doesn't get any better than this sonically.
This SACD box set is a must have for any modern blues guitar aficionado. All 6 SACDs are simply terrific, with rich, warm sonics, very 3D like. Stevie's solo pop out and the band is tight where you feel they are in the room. The discs breath, all have great stereo separation. The lows are low and highs are crisp. The packaging is stellar 10/10.

I think it's good but I just realized I don't like as many SRV songs as I had thought. The notable ones was great; although, the MoFi SACD of The Sky Is Crying may sound slightly better....more weight and body to some selections like Little Wing.
