When I make my rice, I throw three of these in to 2 cups of rice. I then mixed the rice into other things, and these give the rice and those dishes are unique taste. Absolutely love these definitely will be buying these again.

These are packed very well. Have a great aroma when the pod is opened and the freshness mates with whatever your are cooking. I use them with Basmati Rice, just one pod in the rice while it's cooking will give off a very pleasant aroma and the taste of the rice is out of this world.

Some of these seem a little old, but they are still tasty. May have been sitting on a shelf for a while, but I'm happy. It's very difficult to find black cardamom pods in the U.S. These are one of my favorite spices to cook with. Great for traditional Indian cooking.

Super fresh! Smell was amazing opening the bag. The flavor was perfect in my curry. The 4-star is not having its own zip lock, but that might be harsh and I can't only take off a half star.

I used this in a Kashmmeri lamb recipe. Excellent!

I had never heard of this spice, but a cookie recipe (http://www.reclaimingprovincial.com/2013/11/29/smoky-cardamom-ginger-molasses-cookies-a-giveaway/) called for "black cardamom". I was pleasantly surprised when I started using it. Like "green" cardamom, a little goes a long way. The flavor is very different, however. The black cardamom has a distinct smoky aroma which I find very pleasant. It does a good job of infusing it's flavor into sugar.You should probably refrigerate the pods in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
