Droll Yankees DCF-M Dorothy's Bird Feeder, Clear

I've had many..many droll yankee feeder designs over 30 plus years. The Dorothy about 4 or 5 years now. Live just north of raleigh, nc and we see a fantastic variety of birds ... also plenty of extreme weather. The Dorothy has held up perfectly to both! Also smooth and easy to clean (probably not great if you have marauding squirrels though :-).I'm a proud 66 year feeder of birds!

Sturdy well designed to use a number of common Droll parts to make it easy to modify for individual conditions. This was not easy to find now that Droll products are not available direct from the current brand owner. I was glad to find it at Amazon as my first searches for it were not successful. I hope they continue to have this available.

Poor design, cheap materials, and shoddy workmanship. The large feeder is just a piece of junk. The rubber part for the dome support does not hold the dome. The plastic part for the tray does not hold the tray, it just hangs loose. I keep trying to replace the cheap parts with well-made ones from old feeders, but I have not been able to make it work. I am replacing it with a better made feeder.

This is probably my 5th Droll Yankee feeder over the years. My birds love it as they can fly in and out and it's big enough for several birds at once. I've had as many as 6 at a time. Even woodpeckers love it, they hang on the side and grab some seeds. As it's covered it's protected from weather.

If one bird gets on the edge, the whole dish tips and spills out on the ground.

This is the best feeder I’ve ever had or built. It’s easy to clean and fill. Plus it’s a tray feeder that keeps the snow and rain off the seeds. My only complaint is they should make a larger one adding 2-3 inches diameter at least.

Easy to assemble, except for the missing nuts. Had to go the the hardware store and purchase the nuts necessary to put the thing together. Poor customer service.

Not possible to put together with incorrect directions but we were able to figure it out anyway. Plastic pieces now. Great feeder.
