I learned that you should wipe down the inside of your mircowave when you get food spatter on the interior walls. so basically the waveguide has food spatter and each time you use it, the food continue to get burned. and if the food spatter happens to be on the waveguide, your basically burning it until there is a hole and is damaged.couldn't find this piece in retail stores so more google search to find which part I needed for my specific unit.I found this correct part for my unit. shipping was a few days. upon receiving it, I compared side by side to damaged piece and it was a perfect match.installed it and worked without problems. overall happy and pleased, this part saved me from purchasing a new unit which would have been way more money $$$.side note, I actually ordered the wrong Sharp part for the waveguide. PCOVPB073MRPO. but upon receiving this wrong part, it was actually identical to this part #. maybe there could be a slight thickness difference, don't know. but I used the correct part for my unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazon and quick ship saved me big bucks *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2014* I promise to never let the food splatter on the inside of the microwave again! Scary sparking action. Seems crazy that a small glob of sauce can prompt me to go microwave shopping, but I figured something major was wrong with the expensive magnetron. I Wanted to replace the unit I had, since the size is perfect for the space, and the search of the model number returned not the whole unit, just this inexpensive replacement part. When I read what it was for, I realized it was all I needed, and the part took me literally one minute to replace (you need to unplug the micro but no need to open the housing and/or worry about getting too near the scary magnetron, that's definitely dangerous even if unplugged!). If your micro is sparking and the wave guide cover (on the inner wall on same side as control) is dirty or looks scorched at all, it's definitely worth it to try this replacement. It has only tabs, not screws like some models. You just slide the cover upward and it will come free, (but my original had a sticky strip along the top edge couldn't see, and it partly ripped on way off, no big deal).
