Wonderful
This book is a hardcover and very pretty. It is self explanatory and easy. I am ordering more copies as Christmas gifts. I would recommend this book for all ages.

Love it!
Love the book, tons of helpful tips. I enjoyed the slight humor as well. My girls and myself enjoyed the many recipes and how in depth they go to explain them! Tons of photos as well!

Great book for young girls
Saw these BB's in several of my local stores and my granddaughter wanted to try them. She thought they were great anloves taking a bath with them but I think it is for the prize inside of each one after it fizzes out!!!. She saw the book on Amazon and had to have it and I must say it is a fascinating story of two young girls who took an idea for fun and made a flourishing business. This book will make great Christmas presents along with a few of the Da Bombs to give to my granddaughters friends. Inspiring story for young girls

Shall we bathe?
The Bercaw sisters started making bath bombs in their kitchen and turned their fun hobby into a huge business. Now they are sharing recipes with us so we give it a try too (the bath bomb part, I'm not sure about the business). A lot of the recipes are ones you can find anywhere, but the book is a fun gift for a teen or maybe for a wedding shower (wink wink).I don't like tub baths so bath bombs don't appeal, but the shower melt variations certainly do. These are mini bombs that you put on the floor of the shower to set off fizz and scent when the hot water hits. There are recipes for shower accessories like loofah scrubbers. I'm also interested in the insect repellent soap bar with lemon, eucalyptus and thyme. Research shows that these scents are not very effective for most people, but every deterrent helps. If I were going to make these recipes as gifts I would go for bath jellies and the bath blob – candy-like gels that add bath oil and scent to the water. The shaving foam recipe, though, sounds like too much work for a one-use batch. The scents the Bercaws choose are too kid oriented – who wants to smell like bubble gum? – but they hint at more sophisticated combinations and the suppliers they list sell a wide range of fragrances for grownups.I am reading an ARC and so the text is not in its final version. I could not help but notice that some of the recipes aren't complete. For example, one lists mica chips but doesn't tell you when to use them. One nail soak lists mustard as an ingredient but doesn’t say what kind – dry yellow, black, Chinese prepared, regular yellow mustard or what. While there is discussion about avoiding greasy, discolored bathtubs and how to avoid soaking yourself blue with an overenthusiastically colored bomb, there is no reminder that using oils in shower stalls is particularly hazardous. There isn't much discussion of allergies either.I keep thinking of this book in the hands of preteens… Look mom – Grammy turned green!I received a review copy of "Fizz Boom Bath!: How to Make Your Own Bath Bombs, Sugar Scrubs, and More at Home!" by Isabel Bercaw and Caroline Bercaw (Quarto - Rock Point) through NetGalley.com.

Misleading
I bought this book when I was first starting out bath bombs. Now that I have learned a lot and joined many bath bomb groups I know that basically everything in this book is a lie. They say they use certain products in their bath bombs but they don’t. Any experienced bath bomb maker will know that the photo they have of the bath bomb will be nothing like the final product they are giving you instructions to make. If I could have a do over I would never have bought this book. It was a waste of money. There are better recipes online.

Granddaughter is very excited to use this book!
Lots of good info for beginners, lots of clever ideas to encourage more activity. Truth: I photographed a few pages so I can buy supplies. That way when my grand girl comes to my house we can make bath bombs together!

Molto bello!

Disappointing Inaccurate Recipe
Beautiful book, the story of the girls is a compelling selling point and the writing/pictures are certainly on point. I did notice that perhaps only one out of the most excitable reviews have actually created anything from the recipes. I bought this book because it seemed trustworthy, who wouldn't trust those two? On read through I noticed that the amount of oil used in the recipe is very high, almost a full cup for 4 bath bombs!? I went ahead and followed the directions anyway and unsurprisingly ended up with soft bath bombs 24 hours later, and I'm pretty certain in another 24 hours the result will be the same. On their own website the ingredients dont include oil at all, or corn flour, and have PEG as an ingredient. Of course I wouldn't expect to receive their successful recipe, but at least one that works, otherwise it's just a very well made, pretty, wordy advertisement for their products, leaving behind a rather oily experience.

disappointed
I was expecting a higher level book seeing as they own a bath bomb business - telling you to buy your supplies at costco etc even a beginner knows that isnt where you find them. The recipes were basic at best as was most of the advice - I was VERY disappointed and tried to return it but never heard back
