Best Tent Camping: Michigan

Well written and concise. These types of books are always somewhat subjective, but the author's rating system really does give you a good idea of each campgrounds strong and weak points. I feel he's pretty honest about what to expect. Maps of the campgrounds themselves are pretty basic, but good driving directions and GPS coordinates are given to help you get there. Wish there were photographs. I'm a lifelong Michigander and this book has given me inspiration to get out to some of the campgrounds I did not know about.

I'm a serious tent camper and this book is great. Even if you only make it out once or twice a year this is great book to have if you want to explore the state. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes to camp in state parks in Michigan.

The book looks very good so far--very helpful side-bars with all the general information you need to know about the site. I haven't gotten a chance to check out any of the locations yet though since it's winter and most of them are closed.
