Heat Transfer Vinyl Roll HTV - 12" x10' (Black)

When I initially purchased this, there were primarily positive reviews & I figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, upon using it for the first time tonight I realized this is absolutely a, “You get what you pay for,” product. It simply does not work. After cutting, it became apparent that there is a layer on top of the vinyl, it seems to be an adhesive film. It makes it very difficult to cut, to put it mildly. Without the layer of adhesive film, it will not stick, it’s just vinyl. I tried both large & small cuts, it wasn’t usable either way. Thankfully Amazon makes returning it very easy, but it’s definitely a pass.

If I could give negative stars I would. This product it terrible. I had to throw the entire roll away. The carrier sheet was so slick on the back that it wouldn't stick to my cutting mat. I had to tape the htv on to it. My cutting mats are plenty sticky! Then once it cut weeding was a nightmare because it wouldnt stay on the carrier sheet! Anytime I would pull a detailed part out while weeding the part I wanted to stay with it would lift too... then I couldn't get that part that accidentally lifted to stick back to the carrier sheet. Maybe if I was making just solid square blocks this htv would do ok, but it is terrible for any kind of fine detail cutting. Unfortunately I didnt get around to using it until 1 week AFTER the return window closed. So just a warning, if you want to take the risk on this product, make sure you use it immediately in case yours sucks like mine did and you have to return it!

I didn’t realize when I purchased is that this wasn’t siser easy read. It didn’t work out for my projects, but there were a couple imperfections throughout the vinyl that I had to cut around so I wasn’t able to use those pieces. Also it doesn’t have a sticky backing like siser easy with us. So you have to really make sure that you’re holding it in the correct place because it won’t stick to the design for iron on. The vinyl also wouldn’t stick to my Cricut mat, even a brand new strong grip mat. Also it was really hard to peel the backing off after I applied the design. This was an OK product for being in a pinch, but I would not order this again.

I work with a Silhouette Cameo and I had to switch to my deep cut blade to cut this vinyl. I typically cut vinyl with a blade setting of about 2, but for some reason, this SPECIFIC vinyl wouldn't cut. Even on the highest setting with the highest force it wouldn't cut all the way through. Once I figured it out, it actually didn't seem like a very thick vinyl, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I did switch back to Siser vinyl-which cut just fine, so I am able to say that it was this vinyl that was the problem. Also, the carrier sheet is not sticky, which I prefer, but that may just be a preference. I was in a pinch and purchased this by accident (thinking I was getting Siser). I won't order again on purpose.

I went out on a limb and tried the black htv. I was super excited when I saw that it had great reviews. I was impressed with the fast delivery, and packaging. But the product just fell short of my expectations. I was so disappointed. The clear backing to the vinyl isn’t sticky so when you’re trying to weed and if the letters or image start to come up off the clear backing, there’s no way to press it or make it stick back down to the clear backing. It’s hard to see the design after it’s cut because the product is so thin. Lesson learned, NEVER buy cheap vinyl. Spend the extra couple of dollars and buy good quality vinyl!

Update: I ended up buying a new blade, and it cuts much better! BUT my old blade was still cutting threw all my other vinyl just fine. So definitely need a newer blade for this vinyl! But seemed to go on the shirt fine.I got this vinyl because it was a great price for the amount of vinyl. I use alot of cursive font with my projects. This product will not cut cursive! I have tried every setting and even to cut twice. When you go to weed, the letters are still stuck and it's impossible to weed. And if you try, you end up bringing the letter off the transfer sheet and it won't re stick. Did fine on regular font from what I tried.

I've done many projects with HTV and this was by far the worst I've ever used. It would fall right off the backing and I had to recut my design multiple times because when you peel the negative space away, you lose half your design. It also doesn't stick to the mat for Cricut AT ALL. I had to tape it to my mat with masking tape to keep it in place and my mat had just been cleaned and was sticky, free from lint..etc.Will not be buying again. I'll stick to Oracle brand

This was horrible!!! The vinyl kept falling offOf the clear backing. So the letters I was attempting to transfer I had to very carefully place back and try to flip it over onto the material to press. I ran out of my other vinyl and bought this on a whim. Had I have had more time, I would’ve trashed this and bought something else. Unfortunately I bought two boxes. Hopefully I can use it for bigger projects with less smaller details. Just to use it up and not waste my money. I will never buy again.
