Various of Applications PCB/SMD/SMT Repair and Rework Wires Joining Electronics Manufacturing Review: has more features than the other pen irons - I read descriptions of dozens of pen irons, and this had more useful features than any other I found. I have never regretted spending more on better tools, and this is a very good tool for just a little more than the others. Some lacked an on-off switch right on the iron, some had a dial instead of digital adjustment, I did not find any with the wide temp range of this iron. This heats up super fast - please note the video show it heating up in (I think) 11 seconds. That is the internal temperature. It takes a bit longer for the TIP to reach temp. Sill, it is quick. As others have noted, the stand is too small. It depends on a glue pad to hold it in place, which is useless because I move around my soldering tools. Instead, I wedged a copper kitchen scrub pad in the bottom of a coffee mug and toss in the hot iron - much easier to hit than the small wire holder. Like when I am holding together tiny brass parts and forget where the iron is pointing, and melt stuff in the area. Nah, just toss it in the mug. And it is always scrubbed clean ready for use. The vendor wants to package an extended set with different tips and so on. I REALLY encourage them to get it together. It really needs several tips to take advantage of the design. I had to order tips, flux, low-temp solder, and desoldering braid from multiple sources. I would *love* it if the vendor had a whole kt to match the high quality of the iron. Review: Simply Impressive - This is an awesome product that performs exactly as advertised. The temperature adjustment is easy and the iron gives you feedback on the actual tip temperature which adjusts really FAST to the set temperature. The tool stand is a little light weight but I have added some lead to give it more anti-tipping ability. However, for the price this is a MINOR "Con" and easily fixed. Hope it holds up as this is a favorite of mine and I have thrown out the others that I had that were very frustrating.

Works well and carrying case is very nice.
I bought it mainly because of temperature adjustment and carrying case so it is always organized. From that side it's all as expected. When I tried to use it, it was not so smooth, first of all included solder is just garbage, you can't use it to solder, it's melting but doesn't stick to anything. I tried on different temperatures, with additional flux and it just not working. So I bought one of the good brands that worked immediately, the one that was included went to garbage. Second thing is cable, it's the hardest cable I saw in my life, and you can see it on that video in the description. Makes it very hard to solder, so I will have to replace it with something else.

Broke after only 3rd time using.
This soldering iron gets very hot and is easy to handle. However, right out of the box, the On/Off switch wasn't functional. I took the red plastic slider out of the handle to see that the actual switch and the slider do not line up. I was able to turn the iron on by using a small screwdriver to slide the switch to the On position. I am disappointed that this iron stopped working on the 3rd time I was working with it. It has an error: the iron is not HOT at all, but says that it is 630 degrees C. I would not buy again.

Absolutely Great Pencil, total garbage Stand and “Cleaner”
I purchased this to replace a 20 year old soldering pencil. I shouldn’t be shocked, but I am shocked at how far along soldering pencils have come. This is a well built product with a very clear LCD display. It feels nice in the hand and is made of good materials. I am unimpressed with how much the power wire moves the unit around in your hand while your soldering, but that’s the price you pay for having such a good heavy duty cord. (I’m sure they can’t win no matter what choice they made here). The stand this unit comes with is nearly useless. Overall I am dumbfounded by the fact this unit goes from 0° to 300° C in 9 seconds, and can go from 300° up to 480° in an additional 29 seconds!!! I used to have to wait 15 minutes for my old pencil to come up to temperature… Are used to also have to hold my own pencil to wire for up to three minutes before I can actually solder with it. This unit heats the wire up in no time! I really wish they would’ve done a better job with the stand, or eliminated it all together as it really brings the overall package quality down a notch. But is far as the pencil itself, I am completely impressed and satisfied!!!!

Not durable
Iron heats up well and worked great for over 1 year. The problem is that the plastic thread no longer holds the soldering tip / holder in place. The metal threaded piece would come loose often. It’s a decent iron but not for professional / serious soldering. I can’t have an iron failing or falling apart when needing it most.

Quickly heats up, sturdy design.
I was hesitant about purchasing this one because the number of reviews it had, so im writing a review. This soldering iron is nice, its ready to solder in 10-15 seconds from plugging in. It doesnt have that "cheap feel" other temp controlled soldering pencils have. It was a little pricier than others ive gotten, but well worth it. I can even use the tips from my hakko iron on it.

Worth the money
Works very well I have used probably 10 times and the tip is getting a bit burnt.
