They did basically a good job on this but I was disappointed by the fact that they cut lines on areas of the face/side head over the gills that obviously would not have breaks in living tissue just to add to the look of being a "living fossil". So, not wonderful as I had hoped. However the color is actually a more realistic blueish gray, so that is good. Lots of detail sized as stated, which is a nice size.

Realistic-looking Coelancanth at a great price!
I got this as a gift for a family member. It really looks like a Coelacanth; there's no mistaking it for any other kind of fish. It's made from hard, good quality plastic. There is a lot of detail molded into the plastic (scales of different sizes, fin details, eyes, tiny teeth painted white). It's a dark blue color with some lighter blue highlights and white spots. Although preserved specimens in museums look brown or green, if you look on Google images at photos of Coelacanths taken under water, they look just like this model. A great gift for all nature lovers, especially those interested in endangered species, and fish fanciers!
