Richbrook 1000.01 Discarnect Immobiliser/Battery Master Switch

I own a car servicing garage and we have use a lot of these over the years on our older vehicles. Easy to fit and handy to just disengage the battery when a car isn't used very often. Particularly useful if you don't have access to power to leave a battery maintainer to keep the battery charged. Aside from the convenience it'll also allow an infrequently used battery to last years longer.

i fitted it to my jeep, to stop battery drain,whilst parked up for long periods, plus its a good anti-theft device, there other brands on the market, but having spent the day on-line researching the style and fitment, this is the most easy/reliable fit, i would recomend all owners of their pride and joy to fit one of these, you can go to sleep at night,. c.j.

The connection to the fuse broke while fitting. Maybe it was me being a bit heavy handed but, would have thought it should have been stronger. Did not send back, not worth it, just took it apart and used the bits in other guises.

The neg (-) pole on a battery has a tapered profile narrow at the top! This device has it but the it has to be turned upside down. The disconnect knob must be removed to fit. The raised seat for the knob to let current contact to the knob base is lost. The reviewer was correct, they made the taper wrong. I screwed the knob in from the opposite side, the current passes but Not ideal.

A useful addition to your car, particularly if you have a classic car or indeed any car where you would like an extra layer of protection. I bought the item for my MG. I fitted it easily and I should be surprised if an individual with only moderate do it yourself skills would; find it difficult.

It's a good pruduct to put on the battery of any classic left standing. The battery in my Triumph GT6 has stayed very happy with this. Also an extra anti-theft gizzmo.
