Very Satisfied!
I love this treadmill and have been using it for a month now. It runs great and feels better on my joints than running outside. It is very sturdy and a good size. It has made a creaking sound since the first day we set it up. I called smooth fitness and they brought in a tech to look at it and there is a small part that is missing under the belt. Smooth fitness is willing to replace the treadmill, but it was a hassle getting the treadmill into the house and now we have to take it back out and put another one in which I am not looking forward to. That is the only reason I gave this treadmill 4 stars. It's nice to have such a great warranty!

Stay Away - No Warranty
I bought an elliptical a year ago which broke in May of 2014, I spoke to Kevin at Smooth Fitness who told me that Smooth Fitness went bankrupt at the end of 2013 and that another group bought them.He said he would try to honor my warranty anyway as it was supposed to have had 7 years of warranty even though they went bankrupt and didn't have to honor it. After much back and forth of emails, I was told I need a main control board for my unit and that they are stuck in customs. This went on for many, many months, and he never tried to contact me unless I hunted him down first. As of 11/14/2014 I have been told Smooth Fitness has gone bankrupt AGAIN and that he can not honor any warranties?!?!? He did offer to sell me the part I need for $500 (he knocked off $100 to be nice for the 7 MONTHS of no returned emails or phone calls). Anything you buy IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY as the company does not seem to exist. The website is owned by a group calling themselves Treadmill Doctors, and though they say they are not affiliated, they are answering the phones for Smooth Fitness.Anyway, stay away from Smooth Fitness equipment, you will be taking a major gamble and there is NO WARRANTY regardless of what it says.

UPDATE: 11/19/14 NOW OUT OF BUSINESS
Reviewing the 2014 Smooth 9.35 Treadmill:UPDATE:After only having the treadmill for 8 months the motor went bad, a $575 repair and I find that smooth fitness has gone out of business and now my lifetime warranty has no warranty at all. STAY AWAYThe display is the worse. The backlight is too bright making it hard to see what is supposed to be illuminated. The display stays on even when the treadmill is not being used; it's even on with the key removed. So you have to turn the power switch off or have treadmill plugged into a power strip with a power button.Besides the display staying on all the time, there is a little fan inside the shroud that blows on the circuit board and motor, this is a great idea, except this little fan runs constantly, even when the treadmill isn't in use, and it's even on when the key is removed. So again you need to take power away from the treadmill to turn it off. I don't think this little fan or the display would last very long being on constantly. How hard would it have been to have the display and fan off when the treadmill wasn't in use or at least when the key is removed. The fan in the console that blows on the runner can hardly be felt. The mechanical specs on this treadmill are impressive, but the electronic are in need of upgrading.

Still running!
I have had this treadmill for 9 years and it has never given me one second of trouble. I was surprised to see all these negative reviews and felt I had to add my positive experience. I use it primarily for running (as opposed to walking). It is entirely intuitive to use and the display is easy to read. HR monitor works perfectly.

Old Smooth Fitness Company is out of business! No warranties honored!
The treadmill was great for just over 5 years, then the motor started slowing & died all in a week. It's true. I just called the 1-888 number on my receipt from 2009 because I had a lifetime warranty on the frame & motor, BUT the company that answered is a different company selling parts. They bought Smooth Fitness' numbers. They won't honor any warranties from the past. Apparently, the new "Smooth Fitness" that is out there has no affiliation to the older company. They are trying to re-brand the product line.

and it failed like the first motor (surging
I bought the 9.35 in July of 2014. It ran for about 3 months before the first motor went out. Smooth was still in business, so they sent a replacement motor and paid for a tech to install it. That the shaft on that motor broke after 2 months of use. Then smooth went out of business, but Smooth repair is still in business. I was told by a Smooth repair tech in Feb of 2016 that new motors would ship in the Spring of 2016. I ordered one last week (July 2016), installed it, and it failed like the first motor (surging, burning smell, heavy vibrations). It came with a 30-day money back guarantee--sending it back today. The fact that Icon will not honor the warranty or provide any kind of discount to those of us ripped off by this product is shameful. Has anyone tried a civil suit against Icon? I spent nearly $1800 on this treadmill and had less than 50 hours of use.

Buyer Beware!
First, you need to understand that Smooth Fitness was bought by Icon and they no longer honor warranties on this product. With that said, I have the upscale (if you can call it that) version of this hunk of garbage. The motor broke less than a month after it was delivered and it took them almost 3 months to send a repair tech. The thing constantly errors out on the console with the machine coming to a dead stop. The fact that ICON fitness bought the company and chooses to not honor warranties is pretty shaddy.
