Due to changes by the manufacturer, the embroidered strap may come with a magnetic or Velcro closure and the shade of color may vary.

Q: is there any room for writing on each page?

I'm about 99% sure there isn't. I gave it as a gift and even filled it with photos. I don't recall any room to write.

Q: Can the album stand in vertical as well as horizontal position when opened to a particular display and placed on a table?

It can be opened and it will stand up both horizontally and vertically but it's really not designed to display pictures in that manner. You can stand it up on a table but the pages will run together instead of staying on one specific photo for display.
