No sharp corners to snag lines or sails! Heavy duty hinges and quick acting, (4) tie-down dogs make using this hatch a breeze! Opens a full 180 degrees!The Bomar design prevents any metal-to-metal contact between top and base when closed when used with neoprene gasket and nylon friction pads (not included). This prevents freeze-up in highly corrosive environments. Flat mounting base designed for welding to steel decks but can also be used as caulk & screw down as well. These hatches have been used on passenger-carrying vessels, and are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard for emergency escape purposes.
