Works fine.
Easy to see the “shadows” of iron particles stuck to the can where the magnets were. Of course we don’t know if these particles would have been caught in the filter anyway, but I like it as another layer of safety. The thing is pretty expensive though for a piece of foam and 8 high temp neo magnets.

Easy install and change
Delivered quickly and installed easily on my 96 F150. Swapped it to a new oil filter after a few months without a problem. Next oil change I’ll cut open the old filter at take a look at what it picked up.

Different but neat design.
This product is different than what I expected.I thought I was getting a solid piece of plastic or metal holding magnets but what I got is a closed cell foam with magnetics held on with sticky paper.This is a smart design to me because this one product can fit on many different size filters.A con is would be this product will not last as long as a solid filter magnet like FilterMag.My oil filter is directly in front of my wheel so rain, mud, rocks, and snow will be launched directly at the filter, I will for sure be testing the build quality of the Bear Trap.
