Great 3-4 season jacket.
This is a great overall jacket. Loaded with features this would be a great 3-4 season jacket depending on your location. I live in Texas so this jacket will not see any action from May through October but for fall, winter and spring it is very nice. The jacket comes with a decent spine pad, excellent elbow and forearm pads. There are zippers to remove the pads if you choose, zippers at the sleeve cuffs, and vent zippers on both biceps, and two on the chest with a snap that allows you to buckle the two inner sides together to keep the front bents open. There is also two vent zippers on the back to allow for full air flow. The satin liner is very heavy and very comfortable. Now I am very hot natured yet I hate being cold as well. On a recent trip I left at sun up with the temp at 37 degrees and had on a shirt, leather vest, hoodie and this jacket and was plenty warm which was great considering I ride at between 80-85 MPH most of the time. On day two temps reached 78 degrees and this jacket with the liner removed was still too much for me on in town speeds but was great on the highway. The jacket has loops along the bottom in the back to buckle down the tail to your belt. I have not used these as I am a cruiser rider and sit straight up so not a feature I need. The outer shell is very tough and is great protection from bugs, gravel, and rain. I haven't come off a bike in years so I have no idea how it would hold up in a crash. For a Colorado winter it isn't warm enough but way too warm for Texas summers but mostly a great jacket for the majority of the year in most environments.

EXCELLENT for cold weather.
I took up motorcycling early summer of this year, and while I've already put over 3,000 miles under my belt, I still want to keep riding despite temperatures dropping here. My Centech Sequoia gear works great in warm weather, not so much in the cold.I got this jacket after some research, and with the exception of one missing feature, I am completely happy with it! I've ridden in temperatures as low as 32 degrees at speeds up to 75 mph while wearing this, and it kept me warm! I'll note that I was only wearing a light short sleeved shirt under the jacket, that's it!One minor quibble I have is that this jacket will parachute up on you if you ride at speed with the vents open! The first time I wore this jacket on a ride to work, the ride in the morning was very cold, but the ride home was warm, so I opened the vents before I rode off. As soon as I got on the freeway, the jacket ballooned up on me, so much that it made turning my head (I wear a full face helmet) a bit difficult. It did keep me cooled on the ride home, but if I wear this in warmer weather, I'll either take out the insulating liner before riding or just keep the vents closed and sweat it out. But since most of my riding is done on the weekend, in the colder morning hours, this jacket is going to be invaluable.Back to that missing feature: There's no attachment zipper on the back bottom of this jacket to attach to riding pants!! With all the features this jacket has, I'm shocked Joe Rocket didn't install one! Now, there are two strips of fabric with snap buttons to form loops. I am able to use those to thread through fabric loops (could also be used on belt loops) on my winter riding pants and snap the buttons shut, thereby attaching the jacket to the pants in case of a crash. But....A zipper would be so much easier and quicker! I might see if I can have a tailor stitch on a zipper for me later.Anyway, I am really happy with this jacket for use in cooler temperatures, and it's build quality seems just fine to me, so I expect this will last me a long time, provided I don't crash (hopefully I never do!)

Great fit and feels like it will offer good protection.
I'm 5'8" 153 lbs with a 30" waist, and bought this jacket in small. It fits perfect. Although it's an incentive not to gain any weight because any more than this and I think it will be too tight of a fit. I find it fits nice and snug with plenty of mobility and looks good. I'll eventually get real back padding for it, but I feel confident in the elbow and shoulder pads that come with it. The liner works really well for cooler weather and the jacket is still comfortable on the hotter days with the liner removed. I drove around in 80 degree weather with the vents open and was very comfortable even when stopped. Not sure how it will be once we get to the upper 90's and high humidity. But I feel as long as you're moving, the ventilation this jacket has will keep you cool even on the hottest days.

Great value for the money
I am new to motorcycle riding and purchased this jacket last week. I wanted something that was reasonably priced and that I could wear year round. I just went on a 700 mile multiple day road trip. This jacket was great! It is comfortable and functional.Size/Fit - I am 5'11 180 lbs, I ordered a large and medium and tried both on. The medium was definitely the right fit.Temperature - kept me warm when need and cool when needed. I would say that if the temp goes above 85 degrees the jacket is a little hot. The vents are great to have to get the air flowing through. I wore t-shirt under the jacket the entire time and kept the liner out. I am glad to have the liner when the temperatures get cooler.Comfort - The jacket is comfortable the only complaint would be the feel around the neck. When fully zipped and snapped at the collar it was a little scratchy against my neck. I kept is unbuttoned at the neck and slightly unzipped and it was fine. I will likely use a neck gaiter late fall or winter and then it won't be an issue. This is the reason for the 4 stars.

Great jacket and great price
The jacket fits great, as temperature start dropping I'll see how good it is with the liner...

Great jacket with warmth or cool as options
I'm a big fan of the Joe Rocket gear and have been wearing them for over 20 years. But the motorbiker's lifestyle and a love of cheeseburgers have made my old suit shrink. I love the improvements in venting over my old gear (textile or leather). I went with the Atomic 4.0 over the 5.0 for the fact that the back vents are higher up and won't be blocked by my backrest and the waist adjustment has more velcro (it goes further around the back). I went with the Atomic line over the Ballistic or Alter Ego as my normal riding day is 6C in the morning and 25C in the afternoon - I commute to work. This jacket is warm in the morning (with the liner in) and has great airflow in the afternoon - even on my cruiser (behind a tombstone screen). I think you would get hot in traffic but my commute is all country paved roads - but if that is an issue then go to the Alter Ego or Pheinox lines. I'm 6'3" and around 300 lbs - jacket fits nice with room for a hoodie on really cold days.

very comfortable fit.
Purchased an Atomic 4.0 jacket online and received an Atomic 5.0 jacket on arrival. Very pleased with the quality, fit, and value for the price.
