If they were a more rigid feeling product I think I would like them to the point of 5 stars - my congas dance a bit when I'm playing, but not terribly. I've only recently started sitting for gigs now instead of standing, and my LP metal stands were so solid, maybe I'm spoiled by that feel. Bottom line, these work pretty good, and the price is very good compared to alternative products. I might buy another set to add 2 extras to my existing 2 congas, maybe that'll help.Update: I've started using these laid down on their sides with pretty cool results. The side profile is slightly wedge shaped so I can use them more as shims, and the stability has greatly increased. I only use 3 per conga in a triangular pattern, but I'm getting much more surface area on both the floor and bottom conga rim. Basically the thickest part of the stands are where the congas sit.
