Unmentioned Benefit
Used Iron Free for the first time last week for my annual major detail project. I completely agree with the numerous five star reviews of the product for iron removal prior to claying. What I want to mention is the additional benefit as a prep for paste waxing. After iron removal and claying, I rewashed the car and commenced the paste wax. I found that the iron remover had likewise removed the layers of spray wax applied after every wash. My clear coat was therefore extremely thirsty and took the paste with with a different feel than feel than before. I am convinced that this additional step of the iron remover not only does half the work of claying, but also improves clear coat for the reception of paste wax. I am very pleased, and glad that I popped for the gallon. Put this in a quality spray bottle and you will have none of the complaints made by sub-five star reviewers.

Works Fine
I see a lot of people complaining about the sprayer, I got my sprayer and I don’t like it . It’s a piece of junk that drips . I put mine in a $.99 chemical sprayer from Home Depot which works 100 times better than any automobile detail sprayer. Do yourself a favor and buy 10 of these chemical sprayers for your preferred products. The product It’s itself worked fine. I have a white Acura and it was easy to see the purple reaction. The purple is not really what is causing the rust to break down. The oxalic acid is the ingredient which disintegrates the rust . It’s also what smells horrendous. With that being said it seem to do a good job on my clearcoat and wheels. I used this to prepare my clearcoat for clay bar. I went through a thorough decontamination process before adding a ceramic coat. After using this and then a Claybar my drying waffle towel did not snag on anything. I would buy it again

Great iron remover!
Tooks years of iron deposits off my 07 E550 in two applications. Worked on the wheels but took more applications and a longer soak time. Left no residue or discoloration.

Great for more than just wheels
I use Iron Free on a lot of vintage electronic equipment and hardware from cars and electronics. The attached photos show a good example of cleaning as it's in progress. In this case, I'm dealing with a circuit board with flood damage. All of the potentiometers looked like the rusty one on the inside. After giving them a soak in Iron Free with gentle agitation they came out with the majority of that rust removed. This is still in progress, so I don't have a final picture to show yet, but my past results indicate these are going to turn out great. I also use it on painted metal cases where the paint has chipped and the case is rusty. It's worked great on restoring IBM 5150s with spotty surface rust, vintage synthesizers, and the like. Hardware, like screws and nuts, also usually come back after using Iron Free. It's never damaged any paint or blue oxide, and often the hardware will come out looking almost new. If you work on electronics then I strongly recommend having a bottle of this handy for any rust you have to deal with.

Bad sprayer
One of the better priced iron removers on the market. It works well but I feel like how it's marketed as a thick gel is misleading. It's just slightly thicker than most iron decon sprays with just a bit more cling. I think it takes longer to get to work than say Adams or carpro but it's not bad. Smells bad like all iron decon sprays but my biggest issue is the leaky sprayer. The solution pretty much began to drip out of the trigger half way through the bottle. If you buy this put it in your own sprayer.

the Iron Free does not smell nearly as bad as the Sonax
I bought a bottle of this Iron Free to compare with the Sonax, a similar product, I have been using. I began searching for a new product as the Sonax reaks (seems really bad). This Iron Free product held its own against the Sonax. In the photo I have 1/2 the rim sprayed with Iron Free and 1/2 with Sonax. After rinsing the products off with my pressure washer there was no difference. They both do the job to melt away baked on brake dust. With both products, you have agitate the surface with a rim brush. This is not a spray on and hose off and walk away product. And finally, the Iron Free does not smell nearly as bad as the Sonax. That is why I'm giving it a 5 star review. It does not particularly smell good but the difference is huge. It is tolerable. However, Nanoskin makes a purple rim cleaner, acid based, called speedy bright. It is literally spray on and hose off. That is what I use the majority of the time. I'm in the detailing business.
