Griot's Garage 11238 Metal Polish 2.5oz

BackgroundI'm a knife collector. I have purchased a few knives that were abused by previous owners. A particular knife I have is a Balisongforums Pandayan Bowie with stainless handles, No. 1. It was owned by a prominent forum member who recently passed away. It has changed hands a few times since the original owner. It appears that someone tried to sharpen the blade. They made major scratch marks on the sides of the knife blade. In an effort to make the scratches more uniform, I made the blade transform from a polished mirror finish to a matte finish using Scotch Brite pads. I tried Flitz which did not do a great job at polishing it.After reading the claims of this manufacturer, I decided to try this out. Following the directions, I have begun to restore the mirrored finish of this knife. It has taken about 15-20" thus far, but it has worked very well. It is starting to get the luster of a mirror finished blade. I have been using a 100% cotton t-shirt to apply and then buff the blade. I'm impressed by the progress and results I've seen thus far. To get even this close, I'd need a buffing wheel.I'm very pleased with how the blade is looking. I'll give updates as I make more progress in restoring this knife. The other advantages that I see are the lack of a strong odor, a nontoxic formula and the effectiveness of a small amount used to make this product work.Two thumbs up.Highly recommend.

Normally i just use this to polish the stainless exhaust on my car, but one day the wife needed to clean of jewelry she had. We didn't know what kind of metal it was, but it didn't look like silver. Either way this stuff polished it up and it came out like new! we couldn't believe it! we tried other things, and everything we tried just brought the shine back to all the things that we cleaned/polish with this stuff. And the best part is you really don't need all that much, just a small dab, and polish it off with a paper towel and ur done.

I used to be a concours participant with my old Porsche 356. There were lots of places with bright work so O rubbed and rubbed to get the shine judges like. The exhaust tips always had a discoloration from the heat and it was hard to get shiny. This polish only took a small dab on a terry cloth towel to get the dfark residue off and the shine back. It worked well too on my ancient 4Runner bumpers. Again, it only takes a small dab and gentle rubbing to get things looking sharp. My stainless steel stove top has scratches from normal cleaning and use and I tried to removed those scratches and while it polished the surface, the scratches were too deep and there was no impact.Overall, like other Griot's products I have tried, this product is useful for chrome, and other polished surfaces,.

I use it to clean off the oil deposits that build up on the chrome 'finishers' on my car. Does as good a job as anything I've yet to try.

I use this product to lean chrome wheels on a bike. A little goes a long way. It doesn't leave fine scratches like some cleaners.
